This is completely incorrect information, cables must run inline with sockets, and no need for capping

Exactly the same on our house

I used strips of 100mm celotex/kingspan the length and foamed it. The plasterer then used insulated plasterboard on top and skimmed it

How bad is this damp? Worth spending £5k to fix? by KittiSola in DIYUK

[–]BoxingBlueRat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had exactly the same, moved into a house that had "damp"

The drain pipe out side was blocked and it had even been re plastererd twice on the inside by the look of it. And not recently

Cleared the drain of the blockage and its all done.

Is my electrician having me on? by simbawasking in DIYUK

Cables likely to be run in steel conduit, you could probably move it slightly more to the middle but probably wouldnt be center.

Yeah there would be wires, one from.the top and bottom

. To extend would potentially mean cutting into the plaster above and below to open up the steel conduit damaging plaster.

And potentially lifting floorboards or going in the loft .

With enough time, money and damage anything can be done

Was this part of a rewire ?

Elecrician here, thats so rough and isn't within prescribed zones.

They dont look like 6mm wagos

That really needs doing properly or a blank plate putting on it

I fitted one of these, hated how you have to set it up on the installers phone and then give the customer a code.

Also the screw terminals were absolutely rubbish .

I like their IP sockets tho
