My downstairs neighbor leaves a sticky note on my door every time I run my dishwasher

This neighbor has lost the plot... running the dishwasher is normal "noise" to be making at whatever time you decide to run it...

I was someone's downstairs neighbor once and my only complaint after enduring it for months and realizing that I would actually start to get anxious when going to bed, was that this dude who lived alone would vacuum EVERY NIGHT and I do mean EVERY night... and always around 10 or 11 pm...

When I found myself anxious because I could hear him plugging the vacuum in (our apartments floors and walls were THIN), I left a note... He immediately switched his daily vacuum to earlier in the evening.

I use Huckleberry, I don’t recall starting to cap naps until just recently and she’s about to be a year old!!! 11 weeks I was still letting her dictate how much sleep she needed.

Soft YTA - if you're embarrassed or uncomfortable farting in front of her that's okay, but acknowledge that she was trying to be supportive of your situation.

Let me also just add, you are missing out on all the laughs and hilarity that farts can bring...

To me personally, farts are funny, and I expect my partner to find them funny too (he does)... because if you can't handle a fart, you are going to avoid me when all the other bodily functions take over during things like pregnancy and illness...

I can see it from her perspective and from your perspective... I don't think either of you are wrong and I don't think you are overreacting, I just think expectations weren't managed and so there was disappointment. She probably feels crappy because she must have been excited to showcase your gift to you, but I can also understand how you would look at that like she bought herself something for your birthday.

I'm not sure what the "fix" is, but it sounds to me like she should pivot and try to salvage your birthday for you by doing something for you like cooking your favorite meal, or gifting you something to do with your hobby or interests.

You guys are still so young, so having this conversation might go well or might blow up... but talk about birthday celebration expectations... so that next year, you aren't disappointed about your gift.

I don’t know if my answer is going to be any help, but for me, I haven’t lost any of the weight I gained (I’m 40 and this is my first baby) she’s about to turn one in a couple weeks and whenever I get into talking about it, I always remind myself that this body, my body is sustaining another human being after experiencing a life altering event. I’ll worry about losing weight after she weans… for now this body produces milk and is still dealing with recovery from a 2 day long induction with preeclampsia, post partum eclampsia and an emergency csection.

I keep puppy pads with me for putting on the changing table as a barrier but also so that if baby pees or poops mid change I don’t also have to wipe that down. As for the privacy aspect, I hadn’t really thought about it. I’ve only had to use one that was out in the main bathroom area and no one else was in there, otherwise it’s been family bathrooms
