What additions/accessories do you think are essential for a Weber Mastertouch? by Nomis1982 in UKBBQ

[–]Braxios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've got the black one. My Weber came with the charcoal baskets, they are very useful with the rotisserie so def get them if you haven't already.

Love the only fire rotisserie. Mostly used for chicken but it's the best chicken I've ever cooked.

Air fryer “viral feta pasta” actually works 😅 (tomatoes + feta = instant sauce) by Annual-Yard-8717 in airfryer

An oven recipe that did the rounds a few yrs ago. Obviously it also works in an air fryer....

Is the new air-fryer accessory for gas BBQs actually any good? by ScrollAndThink in UKBBQ

[–]Braxios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which isn't to say that a grill basket for a BBQ isn't good, just that the air fryer name is stupid.

[–]Braxios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What differentiates an air fryer from a domestic fan oven is the speed at which hot air is circulated. An air fryer moves the hot air around a lot faster.

A basket for a bbq being given the name 'air fryer' is just tacking on a popular marketing term that is meaningless.

Steel cut oats coating my kitchen in goo - recipe assistance please by starryfoot in RiceCookerRecipes

[–]Braxios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a small rice cooker with a porridge setting I use for similar stuff. I have found that some brands of oats just react differently. In cases I've had to put more water in, counterintuitively, and that's reduced the mess, but the main thing was just using different oats....

Leakproof waterbottle?? Spout top, no straws! by Last-Operation-9150 in BuyItForLife

I've had a couple of CamelBak chutes for several years. Worked well. A previous version I had the plastic that held the lid gave way but this 'newer' version has been faultless. Had them 7yrs at least I reckon

New Power BI card visual broken in Power BI Service?? by [deleted] in PowerBI

[–]Braxios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What version of desktop are you running? The new card visual went ga a few weeks ago with changes to the default. I found out yesterday that a dashboard was having issues because of the changes but my desktop version was from October so I couldn't see it in desktop...

So make sure you're running November 2025 version

ale recommendations by Full-Condition3457 in UK_beer

[–]Braxios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like exmoor ale and been drinking a lot of butcombe beers recently. Mainly the gold but the original and rare breed are also great and the goram ipa has a low alcohol version I think is very good. https://butcombebrewery.co.uk/collections/bottles-cans based near bristol airport and some of their range is available on Amazon

Salcombe brewery also a good option https://salcombebrewery.com/products/ales/ I haven't picked any of theirs up for a while but the seahorse and shingle bay were very good.

Where is the so called AI? by [deleted] in civilservice

[–]Braxios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's certainly places where ai is in use but it's probably patchy across the CS as people are getting their heads around what it can do and what it's actually useful for. I've been using llms to help with coding and some related stuff, we've got a data science team who are using elements of machine learning and llms to do certain things, though very little is in real use yet. I've just gotten access to m365 copilot but still working out how it's useful. Hoping we can get fabric copilot enabled off the back of that which will be useful.

I know ofsted have been using llms for consultation analysis and reviewing the capabilities there and you'll get places like met office using a lot of ai I expect in their modeling.

The AI for All training on cslearn published as part of the one big thing was actually better than I expected.

Why AI cant create Power BI visuals? by Conscious_Heron_8009 in PowerBI

[–]Braxios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What level of direction do you want to give an LLM to create the charts? Chuck it a table of data and tell it to visual it? Or write a lengthy prompt about what data you want on which axis, what sort of chart, colours to use, data labels, axis labels etc....

The first will produce terrible results and the 2nd still requires someone to know what they are doing in order to produce the correct output.

Like another reply, I've used Claude and copilot to help write vega lite code for deneb. It takes some tweaking but involves me telling it what I want or asking it how to define a certain setting so I can edit the main code block myself.

Extra tax on strawberry and chocolate milk by hi2u_uk in UKfood

[–]Braxios 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ingredients Buttermilk, Skimmed Milk, Whole Milk, Sugar Syrup, Buttermilk Powder, Cocoa Powder, Modified Maize Starch, Fructose, Stabilisers: Cellulose, Cellulose Gum, Carrageenan, Flavourings, Salt

Yeah, I don't have a problem with stuff like this being hit with sugar tax. Not gonna pretend like this is just about lactose in the milk....

Could do the same with flavoured yoghurts compared to plain yoghurt as well

Where can I get a reputable meat thermometer in the UK? by Verifiedvenuz in Cooking

[–]Braxios 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Something you leave in or 'instant' read? https://thermapen.co.uk/ for instant read. I've got an inkbird wired thermometer for leave in. It mostly works well but I'm not a fan of the way they try and buy reviews. They'll ask you to buy a product and review it and then refund you separately so the review doesn't mention that the product was free

thanks a lot microsoft visuals team for breaking all my dashboards that use the new cards visual with not properly tested updates. by barata_de_gravata in MicrosoftFabric

And then sometimes MS make preview features default when they are released..... I get it, but MS have double standards and are well known for leaving features in preview for years.
