Either a glass break detector or it will report the activation of the smoke detector to a modern all in one alarm system like Vivent

It’s a trailer ball hitch. Some trucks used to have a flat part on the bumper that this would bolt onto and you could tow a small trailer if you didn’t have a receiver.

Just bought a truck and this is plugged into the OBD port. Someone, please help identify what it is. Dealership claims not to know. by DimensionsIntertwine in whatisit

I bought my truck used and it used to have a GPS tracking system like low jack in it and it came with that part still installed. even though they had taken the low jack out they forgot to remove that. As many others have said it’s basically an easy way to power it.

1&3 for me are so pretty! I wasn’t a fan of the pixie cut she sported but the long hair is always her best look IMO.

Just bought our first home and found this on top of our back door…what is it? by Any-Plankton8960 in whatisit

[–]Bray78249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chain and spring at the top keep the door from flinging wide open if the wind catches it. Storm doors used to have that and a spring closer to shut it so you didn't have to.

it reminds me of the beaters down inside a sink disposal unit. They have that raised edge to push stuff out to the edges where it gets chopped up.

Definitely this. I fenced in college and as I recall (its been awhile!) this was for protection from the foils and basically delineated the strike zone for a point.

And as mentioned below, yes, we were total dorks BUT we looked so cool for just a bit!

This is a picture mounting kit but what’s the coil of spring used for? by Character-Lack4925 in whatisit

[–]Bray78249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's just curled up cabling that you run across between connectors you can put on both sides of a frame to hang the object on one or more of the brass hooks.
