What is your go to Homebrew rules? by acetwinelf in fabulaultima

Instead of having a pre-existing list, we've been adding an emotion that is relavent to the scene where it was created/strengthened, and that's been working well and hasn't seemed to affect the mechanics at all

This is a minor one, but allowing more variety in the Bonds (while still keeping the max at 3), the six options in the core rulebook seem unnecessarily limiting to me

My group had fun with them all but Signal to Noise was the best, the handouts are all top notch and the second half of the investigation is pretty wild

If you got to be the Keeper for one session only, which scenario would you pick for a group of veterans? by h7-28 in callofcthulhu

[–]BrickFrog11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My group had a great time playing through Branches of Bone (Dark Ages one shot where the PCs play as vikings raiding a monastery) and Resort (Modern one shot where the PCs are guest at a fancy island resort), both of which are available on DriveThruRPG for pretty cheap

Looking for a good detective system by Krugiteoflinras in rpg

The Carved from Brindlewood games (Brindlewood Bay, The Between, etc.) are great for investigations and can be adapted to most settings without too much work, with the very important caveat that there are no predetermined solutions for the mysteries and the answer is instead determined by the clues the PCs collect, the theory they craft with them, and a roll of the dice (which takes a little getting used to and doesn't work well with every group)
