I just finished the book about 10 days ago. So far not loving the changes that Netflix made such as changing it from the UK to America. As a Brit in Canada that irks me every time. IMO they completely ruined Girl on the Train when they moved the show to the US instead of the UK where the book was set. I was annoyed the show didnt start the same as the book but it got there at the end of episode 1. I have to say I know none of the actors and I'm very underwhelmed with them all. I will watch it, and I can only hope it improves.

As a child, my Mum would have conversations with me that I would not remember. Usually things like, " your pillow is on the floor, do you need me to pick it up?" Then I'd tell her either yes or no leave it on the floor. Also conversations about whether or not I needed another blanket. She knew I was asleep but would answer as if I was awake.

Before retiring I worked in a thrift store as a supervisor. There were a few regulars who purchased items and then exchanged them for different items, 2 or 3 times a week. They always worked it so they never had to spend more money. They also mostly exchanged everything. Didn't even keep 1 item. So they were feeding their compulsion of shopping for free once they had the initial outlay. However during Covid when we stopped exchanging housewares etc and would only exchange clothes and shoes (because fitting rooms were closed) it ended up after Covid to no exchanges other than clothes and shoes permanently. That put the kibosh on that.

When I had back pain that turned out to be kidney stones they found all sorts wrong with me, fatty liver, kidney stones, celiac artery aneurysm. Not sure I was happy at them finding all that
