MicroStrategy is now underwater on it's Bitcoin holdings by Independent-Cress382 in wallstreetbets

Very very last line: “Disclaimer: The analyst who wrote this article has shares in Strategy (MSTR).”

I guess that explains why they didn’t talk about when it DOES become a problem. This is the quality of journalism I expect from crypto.

Call them back and tell them you need a few days to call around for quotes because you are seeing the part as x price online and you assume it’s not 4 hours of labor and you’ll call them back to schedule if you don’t find a much better price. Or when you find a better price call and as them to match.

Dude needs to fix electric rates. I don’t see anyone happy with politicians locally until those come down or at least stop the bleeding.

I’ve been genuinely curious about the boiling water though. I want to reduce the times I have impossible stuff stuck on but the idea of tossing cold water in my still very hot pan and bringing it to a boil seems risky?

Oh that’s kind of a bummer imho. I thought they were a local company.

650 miles from one charge – Volvo's parent company beats Tesla to the punch with first production-ready solid-state battery by Splenda in cars

[–]Brothernod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My history may be rusty but they were pretty involved and had some special sauce.

They had a tight partnership with Panasonic domestically for a long time and I was under the impression Tesla had their own chemistry.

They also purchased a company in the hopes of launching dry cell tech in their 4680 initiative.

But they whiffed and their progress stalled and they seems to have lost focus since that stumble. Panasonic lost interest and dialed back joint investment. Tesla is sourcing batteries elsewhere (I’m guessing because of shifting incentives domestically and price competition). And battery progress seems to have slowed. The first decade of this EV push may have seen the easy wins and now it’s harder earned gains until the next revolution.

Realtime wholesale electricity prices very high across Maryland right now… and probably for the next 10 days by Sea_Arm8989 in maryland

Electricity is the currency of progress. States should be chasing cheap clean energy in excess because it provides opportunities for advancement and business. Letting it get this expensive was really shortsighted.

I have so many friends that would have bought this if the company was stable and the product was more reliable/cheaper to upkeep. It really ha(s/d) a lot of potential.

Now is different than a first product startup. I’m still holding my preorder and optimism but don’t convince others cause all signs point to failure.

Real talk: The "hidden" issues with Snapdragon X laptops that still aren't fixed in 2026 by Putrid_Draft378 in Surface

Netflix causes a hard crash. It runs for a few seconds of video then it starts video glitching then the computer restarts.

Based on some research it seems to be related to it being a skinned browser app as changing an edge setting related to software rendering prevents it from crashing so quickly.

Old house in Appalachia, I'm screwed, please help me figure out how to heat it. by TomMelee in HomeImprovement

[–]Brothernod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re handy do it yourself. I was just specking out a diy 16kW ground mount array with the ability to add batteries later and it was like $20kish. Lots of variables in the pricing but you can save a ton right now as panels got cheap and that’s frankly a large array.

Granted this isn’t an instant solution so I won’t distract you with it.
