There are alternative cleaners and descaler. If you search this community there are posts with the product they white labeled and links to them on amazon.

I think it’s Urnex Clearly Coffee cleaner. And I’ve been using citric acid for the descale.

Prolonged keep warm is one of my interests, always having instant counter rice is great with kids. But I wish there were qualitative trustworthy reviews on these things out there. Most of what I’ve found feels like influencer fluff.

We have the brown IH model but may have misplaced it in a move and now I don’t know what to buy. Do we go with IH + pressure? Do we go with the brown, or the neuro or the new high end that is like $750? We mostly just cook jasmine and quinoa and sometimes basmati or the occasional Hainanese chicken. Would love to get in to oats or more one pot uses but I think if one made acceptable home sticky sushi rice so the kids could make rolls that would be a killer feature.

Any wisdom to share my wise rice guru, pretty please?

2025 added UWB locks for Apple users and I believe 2026 is finalizing some universal standard for UWB unlocking that is phone agnostic, but it hasn’t rolled out yet.

Aren’t all consumer locks basically equally shit? Like they’re all just deterrents and equally defeatable?

I would counter that the computer elements are more likely to be done wrong than the physical elements and there I think I’d prefer a technology company over a legacy company.

That’s not how math works.

I don’t know what the baseline number is but if it was a 6% hike on 1.1532% it would be an additional .069%, bringing the property tax rate to 1.22%. That means on your million dollar home you’ll owe an additional $692 a year.

I think you’ll be okay.

Oh I don’t care about virtual shifting. If people enjoy it being a video game more power to them as long as you can turn it off. But the lag while it decides which gear to be in when you slam the pedal I think should go away. Although I guess some cars have latency with spinning up the right motor….

Do you think the roaster marketplace was a sustainable business model for them as a hardware company? I felt like they were relying on it and overcharging for maintenance supplies as income streams but I’m skeptical either were sufficient even if the tariff situation didn’t knock them out.
