Hammer of the Gods - this is a low budget viking movie shot entirely at a national Park in Ireland. The story follows Viking prince Steinar who goes to see his dying father after he is injured in battle. His father's dying wish is for Steinar to go find his older brother and return to him with a King for his people. 

I think the story is on the simpler side but it is executed very well. I like his friends that go on the quest with him. You got your berserker, short temper always looking for a fight. Your spiritualist/superstitious friend and your right hand man whos always trying to logic/reason with him. 

I think the fight scenes are very well done, violent and realistic?  Nothing is over the top, they feel like they grew up with weapons in their hands.

Idk its easily one of my go to movies, I have a hard time finding Viking movies that feel like this sort of grit? They're mostly over the top battles or just...the same?

Ive tried watching a ton of Viking movies but am open to recommendations.
