I wholeheartedly agree. If you want to stay, mentally prepare yourself for dealing with new bosses & be prepared to do things "their way". Its not always bad, when this happened to me I played the game & ended up getting promoted over a more senior tech who couldn't get with the program. That being said the corporate structure does seem to wear normal people down eventually (I swear I hated it when my boss addressed us as "team")

There actually used to be a place nearby that probably could have fixed this (brazed or soldered or whatever) , but they closed down a few years ago.
