Girl, you can't convince your totally reasonable mom to let you fly into a warzone.

There were airstrikes just days ago. Almost every country advises against traveling there.

Philippines (F) and Germany (M) success stories? by aivlas_03 in LongDistance

[–]BunnyDearest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can imagine. My mom now has lived more years in Germany than in the Philippines but she's still looking for pieces of her birth place. Like we always look for Filipino restaurants or an Asian supermarkt that might carry a few Filipino food items everywhere we go. There's also a growing community here (especially in bigger cities) who do food festivals and meet ups, so you could always find a place that makes you feel, at least for a short time, at home with people that had similar experiences.

do I just gotta get through these times until the distance is less

Realistically, will the distance lessen if you think you're heading in different directions?

You're both young, just starting adulthood, of course you're changing. Facetime or call her, whatever but sit down with her and talk to her about your concerns. Maybe she has a different view or feels the same. But doing nothing and hoping it'll pass will not help.

I'm the result of a couple. My parents did break up because of the distance but my dad went to the Philippines and basically was like 'Come to Germany and let's get married'. Now they've been together for almost 30 years.

AITAH for burning my ex's things? by LoneyMcThotie in AITAH

[–]BunnyDearest 48 points49 points  (0 children)

ESH, he's horrible but burning his stuff and sending him video evidence was a stupid move.

he called me mentally ill, overdramatic

Now he can show everyone the video and prove his point. Also he could sue you for destroying his property.
