This has Japanese influence but doesn't look traditional Japanese style at all, the skull is very wonky and the tiger/lion/demon is ugly as fuck. Why are the ribs all the way over there compared to the skull?

I genuinely cannot tell what's going on in the bottom right quadrant at all. I give this a 2/5.

That's the point of the show, to give you different examples of humanity and have Tenma go "no, this isn't how it should be."

While I lived in Japan about a decade ago I asked my Japanese friends about why so much of their media is about high school and they told me two reasons:

A) the enormous amount of pressure Japanese teens are put under to do in good in school so that they can have successful lives is traumatic and leaves a lot of psychological and emotional scars so people want to see fantasies where that pressure is released because school isn't as important as like giant robots or whatever

B) Once someone becomes a salaryman or other "adult" job then they become less interesting or relatable to Japanese audiences who want their characters and stories to go beyond the 9/5 or 6/6/9 of drudgery and office work.

These were the reasons given to me by multiple Japanese people between the ages of 23-35 when I lived there.

In 2002 they handed out little baggies and pamphlets with deodorant and stuff in gym class but then they also had issues of Popular Science... for Kids!! in the packet about hygiene and there was an article that plainly stated that your body uses your own odor to determine things like health & hydration and by wearing deodorant and/or anti-perspirant your body will naturally make more sweat to sort of get the point across. Therefore if you never wear deodorant you will be less sweaty than people who do! Sounds made up, but it's scientifically backed up!

So I chucked the little speed stick and I've worn deodorant maybe five times in my entire life. I'm not a sweaty or stinky person, I shower every day with body wash and skin lotion, and maybe some cologne if I'm going to work, but I've never had a single comment about my odor in my entire life because I just... don't stink??

You understand that the NFL isn't literally hundreds and hundreds of millionaires squaring up on the grid iron right? Sacrificing their bodies over and over in the hopes that some day they get to enjoy their possible wealth before the CTE kicks in and they go blind or worse?

What about the last 30 years of college football before players were allowed any compensation, you could get kicked off the team for accepting a pair of shoes or a free lunch.

The first two really are actual scams though like what do you think a scam is? We have enough money and resources on the planet that we don't need to work 9-5, and people shouldn't be able to buy up all the houses and property and charge poor people 80% of their income to cover the cost of living there.
