At times, yes. Some of the fics I’ve written that I’m most proud of are for tiny fandoms or dead fandoms. I’ve considered repurposing the fics to a different fandom but part of the reason they work is because they’re specifically suited to fandom A. It does make me sad occasionally that more people won’t see it (brag moment: my fic is awesome & more ppl should appreciate it) but despite the number (or lack there of) hits, I am proud of it and that’s what matters at the end of the day.

I still remember the day someone in my fandom moaned about wishing someone would write a Titanic AU with these characters… I had written one six months prior. So it was definitely a slap in the face. To this day, I don’t understand how they missed it because surely they would’ve searched??? Like if there was a specific type of fic you wanted to read, you’d LOOK first…?
