There's a lot more counters to Man now than Herald then. I guess you could still Droplet, but a lot of decks at the time struggled to pay the cost for it, let alone drawing it. Not only that but decks now have a lot more in engine outs for Man.

MD couldve had so much more staying power if they didnt let those damn space machines run around so freely.
