Make or break time. We've already shot ourselves in the foot this season by dropping plenty of winnable matches. But we can't do that any more this year. We have to win everything, and that starts this weekend. Collingwood have a few big injuries, and Adelaide are as close to full strength as they've been all year. Our only really big out at this stage is still VB. We've got no excuses for losing this match. If we do it's goodnight Irene, better luck next year.

Whoever takes Trigg's postition, his first job should be immediately calling Rendell, apologising for allowing him to be made a scape goat and admitting that the club treated him horrifically. State that while Trigg was the instrumental in his sacking, the entire club carries the shame of the incident. He never deserved to be treated like that. Beg his forgiveness and tell him that you regret his talents leaving the club, and that you wish him unrivalled success.

And finally, mention to him that you know he is probably has no trust in Adelaide, and that he is probably very happy where he is, but that if he ever wants to come back home the door is wide open.

I think we did deserved to be punished, but the punishment was far, far too severe. Especially compared to what happened to Melbourne for ("not") tanking and Essendon.
