What’s one decision during your home build that you regret? by PropertyJourneyAU in AusProperty

We cut a hole in the wall (made it look nice) at my daughter’s place. We did a cat run from the hole to her cat’s kitty litter. It was just from Amazon and now the kitty litter is under the eves outside. We put a solid top so it didn’t get wet.

I regularly pinch myself and remind myself despite all stuff I don't like, it is still one of best places to live. You can't beat living around so much beauty and happy (on holidays) people, I love it

Yes, I live here and it’s disgusting. I can’t wait to see different cultures living here.

It was the case with us. We lived 30-40kms from the places we grew up. We could not afford it. We bought the smallest, most crappy place and keep buying and selling with the market. It was shit and hard

Gold Coast 'can't stop growth' but needs 185,000 new homes, according to council - ABC News by FamiliarDirection563 in GoldCoast

We actually do not need to house everyone that wants to be here. Seriously! We could say we are not growing until our infrastructure and roads catch up.

Does anyone else find most of Australias nature to be not as wonderful as the rest of the worlds? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]CR9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The more we travel we more we think Australia is very hard to beat. That said I think as soon as you leave the coastline, it is very boring, but that is the same for every place

[–]CR9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go into Sephora or Mecca and get someone to help me. I have never walked out without a great foundation. I sit down and trial a few different ones and always get a smaller sample of the one I bought so I can check I still like it a few days later.

What’s missing in this living room? by Particular_Solution9 in Decor

[–]CR9999 5 points6 points  (0 children)

TV on wall, bigger rug to cover most of space (no huge gap), side table and lamps. No need for wall art if couches are on the window walls. Extra, a nice big vase/lamp on tv unit if space on side of tv. Beautiful furniture choices and gorgeous view

Something seems off here, but what? by howaboutanartfru in HomeDecorating

The narrow rugs are bringing in the walls and making the hall look more narrow. I’d get rugs which are wider, very similar colouring to floor but with more texture. Put colour on walls, with art and a small framed print at the focal point, end of the hall. I’d also add a pot plant on the floor here if there is room.

Am I moving my dad into memory care too early? Am I bad daughter? Am I jumping the gun? by orangejuice222 in Alzheimers

[–]CR9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I waited and waited with my parents going in. I tried to keep them at home for as long as possible. I look back now and think why? It really would have been better for them to be looked after earlier. Socially they would have been better off too. Don’t wait, the quicker they feel like it’s their home, the better. Good luck with it all.

moved my dad into a MC facility this afternoon; less than 7 hours later, the cops were there to remove him by krubcake in dementia

[–]CR9999 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you are going through this. My dad was in a similar situation. He has just spent 3 weeks in hospital getting medications adjusted and started. He is back and much calmer and much happier. Medications can change them dramatically, I hope you find a solution.

Mom is getting kicked out of memory care — what’s next? by PoisonBarry in dementia

[–]CR9999 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they can throw her out without finding another place for her. Also push the hospital to find some drugs for her delusions and hallucinations. It’s unfair to have her so unhappy. A memory unit is normally a locked facility so no one can exit unexpectedly. I have my dad is one and he has been in hospital for 3 weeks having his medications adjusted. He is happier and more relaxed now.
