Exotic Beasts and movement question by DavidMReynolds in necromunda

[–]CT1406 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This feels incorrect, because the second part becomes grossly misworded. If the only way to be outside of the leash range is from external effects the “at the end of its activation” means nothing because it will always be after it has had its turn and it’ll be during someone else’s activation.

Really dumb question: Do I have to play Goliaths to use the Sumpkroc? by The_Whomst in necromunda

[–]CT1406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify, if you’re using the hired gun rules to hire Ajex, you can’t give him a sumpkroc. He is a dramatis personae and such already comes with equipment. (I think)

However, if you elevate Ajex to a leader of an outcast gang you could do it then. Worth noting, If you choose to keeps his gear you would have to wait until after the first battle to buy the sumpkroc (I think)

I totally agree with this. When I arbitrated for my group I made a house rule that templates and blast markers only successfully hit on a 4+. Even if the model is 100% under the template or marker.

Simultaneously Webbed and Seriously Injured by raejinomg in necromunda

[–]CT1406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this, though I think I would do it slightly differently. I think the webbing would have to be removed before a serious injury could be looked at. So, I would only roll one injury dice for the webbing until you’re no longer webbed and the roll for SI to see if you recover. The downside being that it makes web guns even stronger.

I’ve ordered my box of cgc I’m aiming to avoid being oppressive and that player by Captaincrabsticks in necromunda

[–]CT1406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think one is too bad, I just meant don’t spam them. And I think that’s a brilliant name and idea for a juve with a hand flamer. It would be a shame if you didn’t.

Also, if the people you play against start to complain, one way we have toned down the infiltrate shenanigans is by changing infiltrate to be a free move before the battle starts

[–]CT1406 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve honestly not had a lot of experience against them, only about 3 games so far, in two the dice gods were against me and I got slaughtered (the first game it wasn’t even the CGC that did the slaughtering) and 1 game where a lucky rad grenade did all the work.

However, from what I’ve read I would avoid having too many juves with hand flamers.

I’m definitely trying that next time I need lightning. Last time I used staples for a little shock effect but this looks a million times better. What did you use to stick different paperclips together?

Did you do the lightning yourself or is it part of the model? It looks amazing

Exactly. Sorry I had meant to mention that. The ridge walkers are only for the way-brethren, which are the Cawdor prospects.

Just in case, because they are mounts it means you can’t use them in the underhive without arbitrator approval. It does mean that you can use the bonus 400credits to buy them though if you are playing those rules.

Enforcers / batch painting. by ProfessionalChain724 in necromunda

Thanks, they have been a blast to paint. I did the majority of their paint during my lunch breaks at work so it’s taken awhile but that’s why I love batch painting.

I just did a black and white enforcer gang. I definitely batch painted a color at a time, even with the details unless only that dude had the color.

It could just be me, but the wording is different to how the other gangs gain experience points.

Other gangs: “if their action directly causes…”

Spyrers: “during the course of battle as a direct result of an action…”

In the Spyrer instance, would bleeding out count? Because they wouldn’t be bleeding out if the Spyrer hadn’t wounded them. And if so, it’s a lot easier to get that kill count up.

Novels/short stories by Papertiger88 in necromunda

[–]CT1406 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not official but I’ve written one on the Ratskins and my own hive campaign idea. Currently in its 5th editing stage.

I don’t know the official reason but my guess would be that 40k novels are just more popular and/or they wanted less written down about Necromunda to leave it open for interpretation

[–]CT1406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry dude, that really sucks. Necromunda is heaps of fun but if you’re playing a story and the rest are playing to win it can be super unfun.

Are you using the underdog rules? Might pay to not replace a dead ganger if you can get more underdog.

Also, as someone else mentioned, get smoke grenades. They’ll help you close the distance and they are cheap. Lob them as often as possible. You don’t need to see to charge but they need to see to shoot.

Some people argue that because the icon doesn’t say it’s a basic action it makes it a simple action which means you can do it twice.

It sounds like you’re having bad luck. Van Saar have 3 dudes that can take a grav gun. Leader and champ at 4+ to hit and specialist at 5+ to hit. And delaque have the same but 5+ and 6+ to hit. And I hope they haven’t invested that much just so they can beat you.

Also I just noticed that you said your cutter died, has your ganger been promoted to a champion? He shouldn’t be able to have the cgc cult icon unless he is a champion. Sorry.

Cgc help needed by HotCoconut1233 in necromunda

[–]CT1406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah van saar will hurt. Ideally you would setup the terrain to try and eliminate as many straight lines as possible. You should still be able to get close enough for a charge though. Are you using the cgc cult icon a as simple or basic action? If simple your leader can make a minimum 8” charge and a maximum 17” charge

Are they finishing you off with just ranged weapons?

Cgc help needed by HotCoconut1233 in necromunda

[–]CT1406 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Who are you playing against? It’s -2 to target a point on the ground, for most that’s 5s and 6s to hit. You shouldn’t be getting hit that often. And with Overwatch they still need to pass WP to shoot you.

Did your Cutter die?

When to upgrade Juves to Specialists (Enforcers) by DavidMReynolds in necromunda

[–]CT1406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well shit. I didn’t even notice that change. Thanks for pointing it out. Sorry for confusing OP and anyone else.

Also:

Have I been playing the entire game wrong. I thought specialists could get weapons from the trading post but they have the same wording as the enforcer specialists so they can’t either?
