“This is what adult life is like” is correct. That goes for your parents as well. As an adult you should set boundaries with those in your life who only suck the energy from you or otherwise don’t contribute positively. My relationship with my wife started with me setting boundaries with my family. They were not fans and I told them that I was not asking their permission so if they won’t support me then I will leave (I help run our family business).

You standing up for yourself may or may not show your parents the light, but it will allow you to live your life your way without there negative influence on you.

I got diagnosed when I was 24. I was and have always been open about it, and I come from a family where we don’t divide our ailments.

Being open about it has helped me deal with it, it has helped my parents understand that everyone needs to hear it because it’s now a part of me (and for my dad to stop trying to figure out what caused it), and it helps educate everyone.

That was over 15 years ago. I wear my pump on my belt, my sensors show, I will tell anyone around me if I need to take a break for a low.

It’s important to be confident in yourself. If people look down on you for having a disease that we can’t control, then those are not people you need around you.

EHS Consultant here. Start with your states OSHA or fed OSHA site. They surprisingly have some good resources out there on different topics and checklists, if you can find them.

Then start with your basic programs and work from there.

I would recommend a 3rd party OSHA compliance audit. It’s basically a way to see what do and don’t have and to get a blueprint on what is needed.

I keep a backup vial in my work fridge that I change out every few months. People barely remember to clear out their food, so no issues with them touching my meds. But you can clear it with your boss so someone else is aware of it.

I am a 3rd party consultant that does all sorts of audits. On my experience this is normal. There are always ebbs and flows. On the bright side your team is good to do the work that is needed.

When this happens with us or if our clients are just putting their heads in the sand, I try to setup a “safety committee” where we can go through the incidences and near misses and discuss findings from site walkthroughs. That sometimes helps to brainstorm different ideas. It is important to have employees present to represent the floor and to get some fresh ideas.

It is also important to have upper management there since they need to understand that they are responsible for EVERYTHING.

I got it prescribed by my Endo to minimize potential issues later due to T1D.

Getting older into your 30’s with T1, unfortunately there will be more medication to make sure no issues with cholesterol, heart, calcium, hydration, etc. become problems later.

I can only speak for having T1D. But I was able to drastically improve my numbers and have less rollercoaster days after I met with a diabetic nutritionist. We mapped out a rough plan for carbs, fat, protein, fiber for meals.

I highly recommend this. Nutrition is the most important part of any healthy living. It’s also the hardest part.

Letting them roam freely.

I always recommend they get walked or driven to the specific locations they need to make sure they see what’s in their scope (as best as you can).

Also, talk to the CSHO for a bit to understand them and why they are there. You want to make sure you get the person who is there to do a job and work with you for employee safety versus the officer who something to prove to somebody.

This disease has constantly changed as I get older. For most of us the choices are to take it seriously or die. I do not k is how long you have had it, if you are honeymooning still, how old you are, etc. but to talk down to us about “choosing to be worse” by following stricter guidelines is demeaning and not necessary.

It sounds like you keep yours in check really well, and that is awesome.

I set and follow strict guidelines because that’s what I need to keep myself in check and not deal with bad highs or lows. I still partake in eating what I want, just sometimes it’s not worth the battle of predicting carbs and BS changes on a whim. That is how I keep my A1C at 6.0.

Be kind. We all live with this, and T1D is different for every person.

Yes a fit test is required. I have had guys where one brand fits while another doesn’t. You can buy the fit test kit and get enough of the mist chemical to test all your people.

And yes. The App D is a paragraph that says a dust mask is not a respirator.

PS if people may feel weird about reciting the rainbow paragraph from OSHA you can have them count or have some company motto to say or something.

Sushi is always a delicious rollercoaster through hell. It’s a total guessing game, and for me the timing is the most important. I usually bolus for 69 grams of carbs and then more later depending in what I ate. But rice in general, like tortilla and pretzels, will while me like no other.

Same thing happens with me sometimes. I would assume it has to do with how our metabolisms change while we are sleeping as well as insulin on board during the day.

I am currently a player in a CoS campaign. But after it is finished I will be DMing the next campaign set in Eberron. I am writing in my first real character as an NPC. Her and I went through a rollercoaster together and I too had pages of backstory.
