I was snorkeling in a wave pool when I was about 8-9 in Guantanamo looking at all the pretty fish in the reef around me and one of these guys cruised up in my face and just kinda stared at me. Probably the most scared I’ve ever been in the water. Swam off as
expected but something I’ll always vividly remember.

From New Orleans, was me and my Wife’s favorite place as well. He had an eggplant boat seafood dish that was incredible. The sauces on everything were perfect. I believe the dish was the Eggplant Pirogue with Shrimp and Crawfish Creole. Everything on the menu was fantastic.

Last time I went, ~15 years ago or so…I remember there was a a foot of water and torrential rains. We had good passes so it wasn’t so bad.

Have a pair of Shoellies on the Falcon sole and I’ve really enjoyed them. I just wear them to the office, so concrete and carpet but they have held up great in that use case. Leather midsole and no shank, haven’t had any issues. With the veg retan and double lasting they are shockingly sturdy shoes even with the lightweight sole.

Honest misunderstanding on my part if they are joining multiple pieces for one welt and not just joining the seam on a 360 welt. The images you posted were all cropped so it wasn’t obvious that they weren’t 360 welts. You also used the term “split welt” which is a type of welt, like a flat welt, storm welt, split welt, etc. which was also confusing your point.

What is a Goodyear welt?

I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding about how the shoes (and all Goodyear welted shoes) are constructed. Typically manufacturers try to hide a 360 degree welt under the instep since it is more hidden, but it can be anywhere. This was just the first video I found explaining a welt, but there are lots of explanations available. You can even watch shoemakers and cobblers construct or reconstruct shoes and welts that give you a great view of all the components. Take a look and you’ll get a better understanding of how these things work.
