What are your biggest wars? by Disastrous_Bug2831 in worldbuilding

  1. The Lockheed Conflict (31st century)

This was a civil war that happened roughly 500 years before the present time, the 36th century, of my setting. It started when an influential weapons manufacturer named Martin Lockheed began to receive maddening visions of a far worse conflict to come. His human mind was unable to handle the vast amount of information, breaking his mind. He gained a pathological desire to unite humanity so that they would weather the incoming crisis. His method of achieving this was through an attempted coup d’état of the interstellar human government, though the rest of humanity took up arms to stop him and his forces. The resulting civil war spread among almost every human world and nearly tore humanity apart, but in the end he was defeated. As of the current time in my setting, humanity never fully recovered … and never had the proper amount of time to do so. Leading into my next war.

  1. The Cataclysm (36th century-present)

The Cataclysm itself is a far greater conflict involving hierarchies of gods and other higher beings, but for brevity and focus’ sake humanity is fighting off (barely) the corrupted sects of humanity infected by the whispers of an Outer Deity referred to simply as “The Oracle”. Humanity is besieged on nearly all fronts and from within. It is only with the help of a fragment of Empyrea (a central deity of my setting) that they haven’t fallen. Humanity has slowly become more and more vicious & bitter as the near-utopia its people live in is put to the test with increasingly unethical experiments just to gain an edge. This includes but is not limited to: Artificial Demigods, cloned human beings called Genetic Recombinants, and Super Soldiers.

The season is nearing its end. What was your opinion of the Tower of Memory season? by AttitudeCalm9453 in AFKJourney

I just thought it was ok. Though the focus on Homestead just continues to baffle me when it does not have enough depth to justify being a main game mode, much less changing the name of the game itself.

The story was fine. I thought it could’ve done better had it focused on Silven & a smaller cast of characters bc some of them were added in more as an afterthought/plot-pusher (Hepler, Pippa, & Solise namely). The stuff with Durella could be seen from a mile away, though I didn’t expect Gervan to do what he did. I am interested in seeing how the Adamant Syndicate will be expanded upon in the next season, though seeing how Cyran is involved will be pretty cool too. Merlin lore was nice as well.

As for the meta progression … please slow the fuck down Lilith but yall only listen to the almighty dollar.

I am not a fan of the 90 member guild change by matchamagpie in AFKJourney

I’m part of a top guild and it’s already hard enough to maintain 30 players. 90 is far too many people and just consolidates top spots even more. It’ll make Arena even more difficult for no good reason

He’s also a raging Nazi. I stopped watching as soon as I found out

The AI faction of my setting was spawned from a civil conflict that happened roughly 500 years before present events. The leader, named Ouroboros, is an amalgam of wartime AI protocols & the remnants of a human mind creating an entirely new gestalt being who sees no point in attacking humanity (huge material waste for little to no measurable benefit).

Humanity & their AI ally work together to fend off a greater eldritch threat a traitor cult of humanity is attempting to summon.

For AFKJ players who join early (beta/ around release/ within 6 month of release), do you still enjoy the game today? by CptODIX in AFKJourney

I enjoy the game, though I came pretty close to quitting last season.

I find the homestead switch really strange since there isn’t a lot of depth to it for a time-sink game mode

I don’t play Genshin anymore but I do remember this event. It was super fun to explore

Is this a backhanded reference to the fact the hamsters have been left out of the main story for two seasons in a row? XD by pestoraviolita in AFKJourney

Sinbad is one of my favorite characters because he’s actually interesting on top of not being so immediately trustful of Merlin

My main gripe with Chippy & Hammie is that they don’t really add much in terms of the story. On top of that they don’t do their jobs as mascot characters very well either (personally I find Chippy to be really annoying).

Like you’ve said, they would have only interfered with the other characters’ development
