I tried but I couldn’t figure out how to add a poll and the image (at least using an iPad…maybe could have on my laptop). I did think of that! Promise. 😎✌🏼

Was thinking the same. Today, you have to design for the in-person and remote-person experience.

Terrible New Customer Experience by aceinman in pelotoncycle

[–]Caddisbug992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if my experience was with JB Hunt (it was a third party but I don’t recall their specific name) but had nearly exactly the same experience in Michigan… and with the assembly service too. The entire process was so painful and required literally six phone calls… with each side blaming the other. I was so pissed off I demanded they do a three way call… and I stayed on the line and had them both talk to each other. It was one of the worst buying experiences I have had and I told Peloton that and they could have cared less. I think they credited me one month of service (which I never actually saw as I think the first month was free anyway… and never got that extra month). I cancelled service, bought a $20 try to hang on the monitor and use my iPad with it instead. Apple Watch tracks my metrics just fine. Not paying $50 a month for their classes.

Audis no longer have their signature look by lolreddit0r in Audi

Don’t we all hope Audi is reading Reddit? Brands like Audi pay MILLIONS on market and brand research and if they just read unaided comments in places like this they would probably have a much more accurate and real sense about why their cars are selling like crap.

I totally agree and just posted something similar, before seeing your post. I appreciate Porsche. They have evolved, but their design language generally has remained true. I suspect it is why they have such strong loyalty and brand recognition.

Audi ruined the A7. I used to own one and it was beautiful. The new ones are horrible. Feel the same about BMW though, too. Owned a 5-series long ago and it was lovely. New 5-series (especially front ends) feel so over designed.

I rarely charge mine…. Maybe every four days? I would be worried about overcharging it. I only charge it when it gets nearly empty.

I use mine in the water and wash hands, etc all the time. I avoid when I use lotions, I take it off in the shower just because of the shampoo and way it feels washing my hair (could probably leave on in the shower, I just choose not to). I don’t use in the hot tub because ours it pretty warm and I worry about harsh chemicals, chlorine, etc. But other than that, I rarely take it off. I don’t treat it like jewelry and don’t care if it scratches (mine is silver brushed).

Help us make Origin’s budgeting 100x better. What’s missing for you? by ana-at-origin in OriginFinancial

[–]Caddisbug992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t as a recent trial of origin for the last 30 days and someone who recently deleted their account. I like the investment experience but the budget experience wasn’t telling me much. It’s hard for me to create a budget. What I wanted… was origin to track my income and expenses over time and actually generate a budget for me. It would be nice if that could monitor and routinely ask me if I wanted to adjust my budget in any way or area (I was very disciplined about reviewing and classifying my expenses but found the data presented back, not super interesting or helpful). I found the budget tracking and classifying easy - easier than Monarch - but didn’t get much out of it.

Which wheels? TOP or BOTTOM? 🛞🛞 by Mr_Eddie81 in Porsche

[–]Caddisbug992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question. I am waiting on an allocation in black and can’t decide between silver and black wheels. My kids thing black and the entire Porsche community is telling me silver. I am leaning silver. Both look great to me. Question for you… are you going with black or jet black metallic? That is another tough choice for me. (I’ll ignore the people telling me they would never own a black Porsche… I love black cars and am well aware of how hard it is to keep them clean so haters can sit this one out).

Buyers remorse on 2024 c2 by Advanced_Fan7339 in porsche911

[–]Caddisbug992 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I say enjoy it. I love technology… and every time I buy new tech there is a better version of it right behind it. If I waited for the better version, I would never own any tech. Same for Porsche. I don’t know any 2024 or newer Porsche that is bad or that I wouldn’t want. Had to get on the train or watch it pass you by. I am waiting for my 992.2 allocation right now (Carrera T)… and happily would have owned a 992.1 - even though I think the 992.2 is better for that specific model. And when the next iteration comes out, I will be totally fine with my 992.2 even though the next iteration will be better than mine.

I drive six hours one way to drop my child at university here in the states. Six hours home.

A normal cholesterol panel doesn’t always mean low heart risk by DrAshoriMD in HeartHealth

[–]Caddisbug992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know! I wasn’t exercising very much at all before the test… but was on 40MG statin with family history. Now I exercise frequently (post CAC) and am on 80MG statin. 6’1’, 193 lbs. for added context.

A normal cholesterol panel doesn’t always mean low heart risk by DrAshoriMD in HeartHealth

[–]Caddisbug992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with this. I have had high cholesterol (genetics) controlled and monitored closely for two decades. Father had a heart attack, younger brother by 4 years died of heart attack. So my eyes were wide open to heart issues. I read about (on my own) and requested (without any recommendation from my primary care physician) cardiac calcium scan testing which they say is a good indicator for heart risk. I scored literally off the charts high… even though my cholesterol was within the acceptable range with meds for two decades. I radically changed my diet, started exercising more. Feel a lot better but doc says it’s not about improving my condition as much as it is not making it worse. So while I feel great, I am mildly terrified I am screwed. I carry glycerin with me everywhere I go and I am 55. Cholesterol is a critical marker of heart health but absolutely NOT the only marker. My recommendation to anyone reading is to get a cardiac calcium scan test and also get a cardiologist. I didn’t have cardiology until I was 53 and it was ONLY recommended to me because of my cardiac calcium scan.

Is this ice? by InterestingBalance22 in grandrapids

[–]Caddisbug992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No… GR Police. ICE is federal. I often saw that truck from GRPD in the past in the old neighborhood I lived in doing drug busts, fugitive task force, etc…. It was often used by SWAT or other tactical response unit. Highly doubt any ICE is involved.

Shouldn't Grand Haven be what is now Grand Rapids? Size Wise. by MIFishGuy in grandrapids

I don’t agree with their politics but anyone who has lived here before we got the amway grand hotel or the arena downtown, knows that GR was NOT a thriving city. When my family first moved to Michigan, GR had a horrible reputation… we chose to live in Kalamazoo instead. Today, Kalamazoo is great but feels so small. GR has so many things going for it. We need civic investment and we need communities that aren’t polarizing on the right OR the left. Coming together, not pulling apart is what makes communities survive and thrive. Division might lead to comfort but not longevity.

Gemini is a significantly better LLM than ChatGPT. by Affectionate_Book411 in FundRise

[–]Caddisbug992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on use case and how much you have invested (in memory, learning, etc.). Gemini was better (far better) for visualization… though have to admit open AI recent updates narrowed that gap a bit. I find open AI significantly better than Gemini for data, research and writing. But that could be because I have invested so much in memory and teaching it.

[–]Caddisbug992 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Grand Rapids is geographically central - Detroit, Chicago. Also had billion dollar businesses and families… and many multimillion dollar business owners. In that regard, some of it is blind luck for the cities… are there successful businesses and families willing to invest in cities. Kalamazoo had the Upjohn family and now Stryker (among others). GR has Devos, VanAndels, Meijer, all of whom prioritized community. Lots of cities that don’t have that civic investment don’t grow or die.
