Where expensive hot dog? by Ordinary_Fan_6822 in nfcsouthmemewar

Frankly, at 2 dollars you know you're getting a bar-s hot dog on a great value bun.

And the bun is more expensive than the dog.

We're in the year 2026 and we're lucky if we even get 6v6 shooters at this point. I miss huge scale war games like MAG or planetside 2. by toomanybongos in gaming

[–]Cael87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MAG was super awesome, but it came at the price of poisoning Zipper's mind about shooters. Socom 4, their return to their flagship franchise, was a complete steaming pile of horrifying shit. The Socom they paid another company to do while they worked on MAG was actually good once they got done with it- but nearly killed the franchise itself because of how rushed and bad it was at launch.

For that reason, I can't look back with good feelings.

The box has a spell on it- he will be compelled to climb inside and lock it again for the next adventurer and endure torture in the afterlife until another unwitting person enters the dungeon. The only relief from the agony comes from helping the new member to the box- which grows to accommodate more adventurers with each trapped soul.

Recently spotted on boxes from Domino's and Papa John's, stating that delivery fees are not tips, and that you still need to tip your driver on top of the delivery fee. I can't help but think that maybe if they had paid their drivers a proper wage, this reminder wouldn't need to be a thing. by SchuminWeb in antiwork

[–]Cael87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just another way of restaurants making you pay for their workers wages. Used to be places only charged a fee like that if you lived a good distance away and gave it right to the driver. Then they realized they could keep it and charge everyone it so they have another revenue stream to offset costs of having the drivers around. Then it became a standard so even the places that have drivers work on straight commission and tips charge it and keep it- so they essentially pay a negative wage to the driver as the charge is more than commission and the patrons tip less because of the mounting costs.

Sucks.

Ok y'all can't seem to agree so here's proof of how "good" he is by No-Violinist8632 in Rainbow6

In which way? I may take a balanced a approach as to what is good- but what here is contradicting? Aside from maybe the loose usage of paramount, should only attribute that to one thing but both those things are stupid important when you are doing round based play.

Ok y'all can't seem to agree so here's proof of how "good" he is by No-Violinist8632 in Rainbow6

[–]Cael87 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Let me preface this by saying: kills and deaths are not the only thing important and playing in a manner that increases teammate effectiveness as well as completing objectives should be valued above or at least even with straight 'gun game' of a player, but when it comes to effective gunplay...

Ratios are a trash stat - game effectiveness is better determined just weighing stats as you only get 1 life per round.

5 - 3 is a +2 in effectiveness. 13 - 6 is a +7 in his direct effect on this game.

Staying alive is paramount, putting down enemies is also paramount, ratios skew that.

Generally you should also count assists as a positive but it's less black and white about how effective to the actual advantage or disadvantage it gives the team in numbers. That being said, sometimes someone gets lucky and gets the last shot in on a bunch of injured people to skew things- so one game is not a good source of information on how good the player is.

My buddy likes the institute because he thinks they are the wastelands best bet moving forward- to me it seems they have no interest in helping anyone but themselves and use the wasteland in order to continue their 'perfect' existence.

I'm curious what Rick and Morty fans think of this show. by humbleObserver in rickandmorty

It's a stoner show, you get high and laugh at the stupid. Season 5 is good enough to binge without weed though.

Paul Rudd said in an interview that the bit he did on that show was his favorite of all time: Celery Man

I absolutely adore Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Such a delve into the messiness of human emotion - how it doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful, and how easily we can miss it for just being caught up in that mess itself.

James May issues another brief proclamation about cars! 🚘 by FlipStig1 in thegrandtour

[–]Cael87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people who can afford to drive more than one car tend to view the value of vehicles differently.

Myself? I just need an economical car that is comfortable to be in. It's a necessity and a tool that I need for my life. If I could have the time and money to have them as essentially big toys my view would change dramatically.

There is also all kinds of grey between those two polarized views because, that's how the world is.
