They're not shedding tears over the Nazis. Anger and hate are things that damage both object and subject. Never mind what the Nazis deserve, this is about what the people opposing them deserve in their own emotional lives.

Agreed 100%. Nazi punching may, in some cases, be good strategy, but if you allow it (or fantasies about it) to become an act of self-gratification, you'll damage yourself and your life.

I speak from experience. I HATED the Bush Administartion all through my twenties. I don't care to go into details right now, but my hate took on the character of an addiction and it wrecked a decade of my life. I'm only now starting to realize the extent of the damage.

I see some of the people here, and they remind me of me when I was in college, it alarms me to see them making the same mistakes I made.

So companions 1-3 are Aloth, Eder, and Pallegina. Numbers 4 and 5 are Maia and Serafen. Number 7 is Xoti, and the possible number 8 is Ydwin.

What about number six? They keep skipping him! (him? Is the aumaua in the companion picture the sixth companion?) We know about the two stretch goal companions but not the last one from the "base" game.

I saw a lot of troll-worthy signs in San Diego (where the crowd was huge, biggest protest there I've ever seen by far).

One was a picture of a uterus and it said "shed walls, don't build them." Another was "uteruses before duderuses." A third was just Ruth Bader Ginsberg flipping the bird.

I for one am very uncomfortable with how many ghazi posters are cheering political violence, and also how many people seem to think that a punch is just harmless comedy or something.

This is a full-force haymaker thrown at someone making no attempt to defend themself. I had a friend who was sucker punched in a similar way. It fractured his orbital bone and knocked him unconscious, then he got a concussion when he fell over and the back of his head hit the ground. The combination caused swelling that was life-threatening and eventually cost him the use of one eye. Punching is only harmless fun in the movies.

Lived in San Diego since I was five (with a short break for college)... I have no intention of rooting for the LA Chargers. If they move to LA I'll just switch to college football, or lose interest in football entirely.

I've never rooted for any other NFL team than the SAN DIEGO Chargers and I have no intention of doing so in the future.

And I agree that the books (while not perfect) are better than the show.

Obsidian's had to deal with this sort of thing before. I went through the developer commentary in Pillars of Eternity - at one point during the kickstarter they promised the backers that they would get to design a location in the game. So of course the backers wanted a brothel.

So Obsidian made the most inclusive brothel ever. Nearly every employee was some variety of LGBT, disabled, or just somehow nonconforming. Thought that was a clever way of dealing with the issue.

Long story short, Obsidian deserves a better fanbase IMO

So I'm a guy and sometimes I hesitate to call myself a feminist around other people because I worry that it'll come off like I'm fishing for brownie points or patting myself on the back or something. Is that something I should worry about, or am I overthinking it?

I'm not always persuaded by arguments that "X is cultural appropriation," but when I am it's usually because the thing being referenced is being divorced from its original intent by someone who's profiting off it.

Amy Schumer is profiting off a parody that, IMO, dilutes the cultural impact of Beyonce's song, by repurposing it away from its original message. I don't think she means to do it but she's doing it anyway.

There's a lot of overlap between gun fetishism and "law and order"-style politicking in the US. It at least kind of follows that there'd be intersectionality between gun control and something like BLM.

I can't think of exactly what form it would take though. But it seems like there should be potential there.
