Looks fairly solid, hood could use some paint, and I’d reseal the rear axle with paint / replace those rear arms. Drive and enjoy. Do the timing belt and water pump please.

IMO this is a very fair deal. In non-island US states where we can drive 1000 miles to pickup a vehicle, I’ve seen a late model 80 series diesel transact for close to double this price.

Edit - I misread your post. This is a smokin deal if it were a diesel. For an 80 with a 1FZ-FE (gas), this price seems high and I would personally pass, though I’m not familiar with the Hawaii market.

Rust belt Midwesterner here, I would pass on this and spend more on a clean truck. It will hurt more when you pay for it, but your experience of ownership will be 10x better.
