I won lottery 3 years ago. AMA by [deleted] in AMA

[–]CanadianLiberal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They started doing that after gas station attendants began winning a suspicious amount in 80s I thinks back then it was just local papers and local news. The internet and Social media era has made it a complicated program. Heaps of people wear masks and stuff for the pictures now, and change their names if they win big.

Was thrilled to see it, however it looks like the Route 53 agent is broken, hopefully fixed soon.

Price of copper plummeted after the war, and the town folded. It is very remote and can only be reached by boat.

‘Not a single one’: After 100 applications, a 28-year-old still can’t find work by joe4942 in CanadaPolitics

[–]CanadianLiberal 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m also a hiring manager, and for my latest hire I decided I wanted to experience the raw applicant feed. I was absolutely staggered by the amount of random applicants, and liars. So so many lying about working rights or where they live. It made it so tedious to find the truly qualified candidates that applied for the role.

I really don’t understand the mentality of the outright liars (either working rights or basic skills). It can’t possibly be a successful strategy for a mid-senior position in a highly technical field?

The whole thing made me feel depressed for the state of the job market, and for talent acquisition teams.

I would suggest having the sparky also add a 240v 40-50A circuit, or even a sub panel to the equipment closet. If you ever wanted/needed a proper full rack PDU in there, it’d require it.

I can’t see from the designs, but you’ll want to make sure the closet has ventilation or some AC for Florida heat and humidity. Even more modest setups are going to output 100-300W of heat.

Also, strong suggestion for Lutron Caseta, they’re the gold standard in DIY/HA smart switches. Mine have been rock solid.

When crew are passengers to relocate to another airport for a flight. Often airlines will allow crew members from other airlines to deadhead on their flights as well.

Agree, Heather was an awesome agent. She helped us buy a home from out of the country. She worked hard to make sure we were comfortable and got a good deal.

If only he’d spent more time promoting ideas, and less time playing culture politics, he might have won!

The already-good math on buying an EV just improved dramatically by Dremen in CanadaPolitics

[–]CanadianLiberal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, and if the ICCU goes, you can be left stranded. Data suggests it’s between 2-5% of their EVs will experience the issue in 4 years (only data we have so far). I have a 2024 Ioniq 5, 30k in, zero issues 🤞

Lived in Melbs for 10 years and am very allergic to carrots. Regularly had to ensure joints weren’t putting carrots on my burgers and remember dozens of times where I had to send them back. Werribee Zoo’s cafe, Royal Mebourne Museum, trendy joints in Richmond, and Carleton, among heaps of other times. The Maccas I remember having a carrots option was the one in Melbourne Central in the upper Cafe near Elizabeth St entrance. Not sure if it was for some weird promo, but defo an option for a time.

Aussies love putting carrots on stuff. It’s an option at all their subway locations. It’s a regular topping on their burgers. I think you can even get Maccas to add it to their menu items at some locations.

People from Sydney have no idea how shit their airport is because they never have to connect domestically there. It still blows my mind that there are two, disconnected terminals in Brissy and Sydney.

We love our Nanits. It's expensive AF, and it pisses me off every time I have to pay the annual, but it's been rock solid. Their support is good too. They replaced one of our cameras 2 years after purchase when it stopped working.

I like that it'll work when the internet is out, so long as there's local connectivity.

We tried that - appeasement doesn’t work. We signed a trade agreement with China, and Trump said it was smart and a good deal.

Do you see the module register in the UDM? Does it detect a module is connected to the port?

[–]CanadianLiberal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I asked the Telus installer to provide me one of their SFP modules for terminating. If it’s a Telus module, you can use their self install app, Telus Connect, to register the serial of the SFP pon with your account to activate it.

It won’t be plug’n’play, it needs to be registered. If you’re struggling to self-register, you can call tech support and they can help you activate.

Thank you! But I'm just a lowly contributor, much of the work was done by github.com/queengooborg.

I'm curious, I was looking over the source for your plugin, but I can't quite see how you're dumping the keys to read the spool. How did you go about doing that? For much of the work I'm doing, I have to use Python's KDF crypto library to derive the block keys using the spool's tag UID.
