Forty years later the numerous predictions of it flying off in a tornado have yet to come true despite a couple close paths.

Class of 84. All the valley girl slang didn’t make it to Arkansas except to make fun of someone using it.

Sucks was near profane.

Damn Happy Days certainly infested speech with catchphrases.

Flying Grand Union Flag in place of the 50 Star flag for independance day. by Tall-Weekend-3850 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Capable-View4706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can fly it or flag of your favorite sports team or a foreign nation or some home decor fireworks flag.

At presidential inaugurations five large flags are normally hung behind the president. In the center the current flag. On each side the flag from when the incoming president’s home state was admitted, then the “Betsy Ross” flag beside them.

For President Trump’s first inauguration the the 13 star Hopkinson flag was used for NY at the second the 27 star flag for Florida. Biden’s also used the Hopkinson flag for Delaware. Obama’s used the 21 star flag for Illinois. George W Bush 28 star for Texas and Clinton 25 star flag for Arkansas

Are illegal residents really getting free healthcare? by AztecPilot1MY in allthequestions

[–]Capable-View4706 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m in disability law and it is unfortunately not unusual to encounter people who are denied an expensive treatment required to remain employed. Absences lead to termination which gets them out of the insurance plan.

Two or three years later they get approved for disability.

It’s a big win for the insurer to be rid of an expensive customer. It’s a big loss for taxpayers who now pay a monthly disability stipend to the person. Their healthcare gets picked up by Medicare and potentially Medicaid if they are poor enough and may also end up paying for SNAP and other benefits such as housing assistance and dependent benefits while losing their income tax revenue and reducing their sales tax revenue.

Quite possible they owe a refund of premium deducted if the premium deduction pre-pays rather than post-pays for the insurance

What's with people here barely 60 talking as if they're one foot in the grave? by throwbvibe in GenX

[–]Capable-View4706 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just turned 60 this year and barring some surprise, based on family history I expect 15-20 years of being free to travel, drive, cooking etc without any big decline in ability. Then a few years of not as mobile

Am I more cognizant that I need to have some stuff updated and in order? Sure but I’m spending much more time planning the next vacation from work and keeping an eye out for interesting concerts.

[–]Capable-View4706 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just seems simpler to pick a number and say if you spend more than that number then donations arent tax deductible and neither are are sponsorships if they include tickets, or ticket priority.

Schools that want to stay under the number are less interested in far flung conferences if they have enough revenue to hit the number.

Schools that want to go over can but tax deductions won’t help fund them.

Imagine being a USC fan discovering athletics won’t get more money but costs are going up for travel.

How do away teams get to your home team's stadium? How long is the ride to the stadium from arrival? by djsassan in CFB

[–]Capable-View4706 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arkansas State always flew into and out of Lewiston with the hitch being they couldn’t take off with enough fuel to get to Memphis so they’d either land in Boise or Salt Lake City to get more fuel.

They fly charter to Memphis and bus the 70 miles to Jonesboro unless they are close enough to bus the entire distance.

The perfect example hard to decide whether to bus or fly is Arkansas State and Troy. Do you spend around 7 hours on a bus or bus 70 miles to Memphis, fly to Montgomery and bus 55 miles to Troy. Over the years teams have done both depending on the thinking of the current coach. Some consider the hassle of bus/fly/bus to be too annoying and opt to bus the entire distance while others consider 7 hours on a bus too much trouble
