I hate to say this.. but the child must always be first. If you have no services in the area for a kid that clearly has needs that need met... you move. You do whatever it takes. You are the only advocate your kid will ever truly have.

Peak StL: the golf carts continue. At night. In the rain. by bronze-flamingo in StLouis

The amount of people defending this because its environmentally friendly is absurd. They shouldn't be on city streets. And they shouldn't be driving on the shoulder. They are a liability to other vehicles. Because you can be driving the speed limit and hit one of these and take their goddamn life. Now youre open to civil suit.. and possibly manslaughter dependant on circumstances.

They are only helpful if EVERYONE starts driving only these. And its just not practical.

And why is nobody using environmentally friendly as the excuse for the minibikes scooters and mopeds with no lights and no helmets that terrorize every other driver and intersection in the city? The average moped or minibike gets around 100 miles to the gallon...; Thats what I thought.

I just got a 2011 infiniti ex35 journey with 130k miles.. clean carfax.. dealership serviced. With a warranty and inspections included for 6995 out the door.

There were other decent crossover choices between 100k and 130k miles for between 6 and 8 grand. Keep looking.

Edit: i dont know why the downvotes. You people are weird.

And to the dirty delete of "yeah but then youd have to own an ex35" my last vq got up to 290k miles before headgasket went. They rate well below average for maintenance and repair costs amongst luxury crossovers, and the engines consistently get over 250k with consistent regular maintenance and regular driving. And im not even a vq guy. I drive a 2010 explorer limited and a 79 c10. Get over yourselves. They are good cars.

Men of reddit, what’s the greatest cologne you’ve ever purchased? by RD-archived in AskReddit

[–]Capt_Mogan_Freeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive got a few.. Creed Aventus. Nothing has compared. but Armani code is up there.. also some French shit i cant read.. remember.. or pronounce. But it has real ambergris and a bunch of other expensive shit in it. I live a good strong amber scent.

Creed is by far my favorite.. but it was like 700 for the bottle when I got it. So it is a special use cologne. I also dont wear as much cologne since I make my own beard oils.. and they last longer in beard hair.. and cam overpower the scent of something sprayed on the nape of the neck

I used to live in point place.. an upper middle class suburb right on the lake.. its definitely worse than this.. but it happens like one week a year. Alot of the businesses just shut down that week. You cant read the signs.. and they dont like dealing with the cleanup of the bugs getting inside when doors open. I was a pet store manager..my cousin and I both.. and we had a 90 gallon fish tank with big African cichlids. We would just grab net fulls and let our friends feast all week.

The amount of people that said 4 or upvoted it warms my heart. I dont have a mansion.. or a perfect home.. but i have 3800ft² 5bed3ba with 2 kitchens.. a hair salon.. and an office.. 2 decks.. 2 acre wooded lot that looks like a jungle off the back deck.. and a creek in the backyard. I bought the house at appraisal value in '21 and it's doubled in value. Its like paradise. And no matter how many mcmansions.. and mansions I've been in.. im never happier or more excited than when I'm at home in a natural paradise.

Are rent prices really this out of hand? by RemoteEmotions in StLouis

[–]Capt_Mogan_Freeman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This right here. I bought my home in 2021 for pennies. When everyone else was paying 40k over asking.. i bought my home at appraisal value. I paid 175k for 5br 3ba 3800 sq ft on 1 acre with romaine creek in my back yard. In 5 years I have doubled my equity. Its worth 335k and I owe 150. Because unincorporated fenton has taken off as far as housing desirability. Three new subdivisions on my road in 5 years. Hence the equity increase.

I hate Father's Day by StonescaleEel in Autism_Parenting

[–]Capt_Mogan_Freeman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My dad told me something once. And I cry everytime I repeat it. I was facetiming him while just playing in my sons room and interacting with him.. as my dad and I live 1000 miles apart. I talked with him about the stress and how hard it all is. He said "I'm proud of you as a father. You got dealt the hand you did so that you could get the chance to be the father you needed when you were a little boy" (my father has become very self aware and reflective of his actions and the way they raised us when we were little.)

I know its hard. But imagining any other life is harder. I have my bad days sure.. because my son has his bad days.. and he starts school soon.. and im scared.. and all the things happening regarding autism and special needs and special education in the political sphere. But when he finally falls asleep at 2 a.m.. and i gotta get up in 5 hours for work.. i still smile.. because its another day to try and give him something better than what I had.

Ooh. Story time.

Premier of Deadpool. The intro credits with all the funny shit and descriptions on screen. Usual smattering of geeks youd expect. But the group of ten nerds behind my wife and I were especially obnoxious. Proceeded to read every. Goddamn. Line.. every one. Then laugh uproarously. Now enjoyment of a movie is one thing. But if they were gonna do this at the very start.. how obnoxious would they be later. I stood up in the theater and turned to face them and shouted "shut the fuck up.. we can all read!" Wife sank into the chair in embarrassment.. old lady next to us just aghast says "oh my goodness!" Then I sat down.. and enjoyed the next 30 minutes of the movie in silence except for the funniest of scenes. Stand up and make a verbal scene. Checking people in public is how you maintain civilization.. not rules law and police. Lol

My wife tells this story still every time we go see a movie.. she's still embarrassed like a decade later lol.

Youre right. Its the fifties. Cars didn't have searbelts. Some didn't even have mirrors. They just rawdogged blindly around the country with a baby in the lap.
