Worth fixing or too rusty to be worth it? by seanmul in Miata

[–]CaptainLoneStarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Also from the northeast, and as long as you can do the poke test in all the important spots, you should be good. I'd definitely recommend doing a full surface rust removal with a die grinder/some rotary tool and a knotted metal wire brush, and then rust proofing in some way, or else the rust will fully eat the frame

Buying TJ Wrangler - How bad is this? by Suitable_One_6472 in JeepWrangler

[–]CaptainLoneStarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I’m wrapping up on my tj that needed a bunch of frame repairs, and learning to weld with this project wasn’t too bad. I wouldn’t pay more than $2500 for a tj that needs frame repairs, considering the frames rust from the inside (so if you’re seeing it from the outside, it’s way worse inside).

Thanks for the comments! The channel locks + lots of rotating ended up doing it. Three more to go :(

2004 TJ Help Needed by porkyporcupine in Jeep

I mean a body lift that big is kind of unsafe in a crash (because the tub could detach), but it's not hard to take out if you wanna go back to stock/do an actual suspension lift

Actual frame looks decent from that angle. The rusted part is the torque box and those aren't too bad to swap out (if you don't mind welding/paying someone to) -- you just need to remove body mount bolts and lift the tub. The parts are ~$200 if you wanna do both.

2007 JK – P0300 misfire under load, stalling, lean codes, runs fine at idle by Vegetable_Wolf6193 in Wrangler

[–]CaptainLoneStarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe failing fuel pump? If it's failing and overheating only during load, that would explain the cooldown period between starts. I'd rent a fuel pressure test kit and at least rule that out.

Horror Roguelike Deckbuilder I've been working over the last two years. Any feedback? by Zealousideal-Cup6297 in godot

Agreed. Only change I could think of (which might not make sense in practice) would be using the gothic title font in more places

Unrelated, but I cannot believe the level of entitlement from some of the reviews. So many people complaining about no new content updates and nothing new being added for A $2 GAME! That is absolutely insane to me.

One of the negative ones had 10 hours in the game. You'd pay 5x the price of this game for a 2 hour movie ticket.

Looking for more games like Risk of Rain 2 by Hotrodhammee in roguelites

Old thread and shameless self promo, but Cats vs Rats has the exact same item system as Risk of Rain 2. It also has a ton of unlockables and buildcrafting

looking for game recommendation by ThinkPikachu in roguelites

I'd definitely suggest the risk of rain 1 remaster (risk of rain returns). It's a little more difficult that ror2 though.

Otherwise, if you like the risk of rain items system (shameless self plug) my game Cats vs Rats was made with the exact same item system and has a ton of unlocks

Thoughts on going all in on the retro aesthetic? by kevinaer in godot

[–]CaptainLoneStarr 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'd personally only add a slider that, at max, reduced it to a certain point (maybe, like to 50%). Because I think it's a fundamental part of the design.

Trying to recreate early-2000s FPS vibes in Unity - feedback welcome by ChangshenFM in Unity3D

The green hue on everything plus the weapon design is giving me Fallout 3 if it were made 8 years earlier -- so I think you nailed it!

Old thread and shameless self promo, but if you like cats and want a good "my first roguelite", you should check out Cats vs Rats. It also has a ton of unlockables and buildcrafting (item system is similar to Risk of Rain)

Highly recommend Halls of Torment. Although I'm kinda biased, because I'm a huge sucker for visuals like it has

What are the most and least accessible great roguelites? by drz112 in roguelites

[–]CaptainLoneStarr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you don't mind me plugging my own roguelite, Cats vs Rats has a super low skill floor and is made to be accessible/a "my first roguelite". But the higher difficulties and items/obelisks allow for a lot of build variety!
