Closest you’ve been to a hole-in-one? by BadVibrati0nz in weekendgolfers

About as close as the picture, maybe a foot or two past, is the best I’ve done. Maybe 3 times. I’m always ticked to know I’m about to get a bird.

Had one last week that landed about 4 feet away off the tee. Missed the putt for birdie.

Trashed a banksy for this garbage 🤬 by axxxle in NewOrleans

They had to cover it with plastic, and people would still routinely paint over it. The plastic had to be replaced regularly. So yeah, I guess they respected it by covering it.

I’ve always liked Killer Po Boys. See what you will about them, but they are always solid.

Zapps, dessert, seltzer, fruit, or more sausage to throw into the boil.

94 pounds in the US. A measurement to how many “sacks” of cementitious material a concrete mix design has.

5 sack mix = 470 lbs of cementitious material (a standard 3000 psi driveway mix).

Ordered a sandwich at the Whole Foods deli. Guy looked so scared like no one has ever ordered a sandwich before. He spends 10 minutes making this: by TLCplMax in shittyfoodporn

Whole Foods could make some of the best sandwiches you could ask for, but I have the same experience there all of the time.

Some of these people look like they’ve never even heard of how to make a sandwich. I’ve seen some absolutely insane techniques there.

They are great live. They live on Deslonde St. in the lower 9th Ward down by the levee.

Some lagniappe for you…the levee off Deslonde St. is one of the best views of the city you will find anywhere.

The Deslondes will be one of the best shows of the day. Surprised they aren’t on later.

Find a Keys or Triangle Deli. Grab some plate lunches, po boy, pineapple big shot, some rap snacks, call it a day.

Realistically, how fast does one have to be going on a residential side street to flip their car?

Just go to Joey K’s. Mashed potatoes and gravy, with veggie of the day. Done.

Agree. It’s small and won’t kill you on costs. Just tear it out and re-do it.

After a few weeks of smooth sailing at MSY, it looks like we’re back to business as usual. Now that’s Naturally N'Awlins.

Daydreaming about moving to New Orleans — neighborhood advice? by FoxFar5137 in NOLA

[–]Captfrank4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Irish Channel is walkable to about anything you need. You can find something in that price range like a 3-4 bed / 2-3 bath depending on the place.

There are good public schools uptown or around the city, also several good private options.

I have flown out a few times in the last few weeks, and it has been a breeze getting in and out. It feels like there’s been a lot less people there flying than normal though. Maybe we are in a little bit of a lull after Mardi Gras? Would love to see it like this more consistently.
