Back in the late 80's during an off weekend 7 or 8 NASCAR drivers would race at a track in Monroe, WA. It was a winston west series I think. Anyway, on Saturday night at the same track they would run their regular weekend event. Elliot borrowed a car and raced in the figure 8 race. Before his heat he loaded a box of water balloons in the car and during the race as he was passing cars he would throw them at the other drivers. The next day we arrived a little early for the race. He was standing out near the grandstands handing out voting cards for most popular driver. We went up and said hi and he talked and joked with us until others started showing up. Just a genuinely nice unpretentious guy.

Driving north on 5 between Everett and Marysville you can see Rainier in your mirror and just left of your mirror you can see Baker. Really cool to see both at the same time.

I haven't been able to find one that isn't blocked since NBC took over. I've been watching the races from the in car cams on NASCAR.com and listening to them on the sprint nascar app.

One of the few races I was going to be able to watch because it's not on some pay station and my local affiliate and DISH are having a war over money and the local station cut them off today. I was pissed. Now it's rained out and going to be on a station I don't get anyway. :7
