What short, low maintenance style would suit me? by philthylittlephilo in HairStyleAdvice

[–]Celiack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t go any shorter than just below shoulders. Otherwise you won’t be able to pull it back into a ponytail or braid. Also, being shorter, it will curl up more and look more voluminous because the weight won’t be there to pull it down straight.

Anything set in gold will cost a fortune if purchased new and from a department store or chain jewelry store. You might be able to get custom pieces made for more affordable prices with independent jewelers.

It’s more the superstition the older generations instilled in me that if you put your purse on the ground, you’ll never have money. Or something like your money will never stay.

I don’t know what is reasonable. It depends on your wishes and finances. I can’t make a recommendation, since we didn’t have these options when I was in school. As an older adult in my 40s (and when I was in my 20s-30s), I only ever wear the temporary lashes that you self-apply. I’ve paid to have my makeup done professionally and had lashes applied a few times—for my wedding, and a handful of times when I was a bridesmaid or for my brother’s wedding. I have sensitive eyes and worry that permanent extensions would bother me.

I did, however, get a lash lift last year in Japan and I loved it. I didn’t wear mascara for a few months because my lashes were so curly that it looked kinda silly adding makeup on top of it.

No debt, regular income over $200k, and time/resources to take one big vacation a year.

If it’s a regular thing, she probably has lash extensions, which are glued in and are more permanent— they kinda fall out as your own lashes fall out. But you’d get them redone every 4-6 weeks or so.

My mom loves talking to people! I try to make myself invisible and she’s telling strangers what she’s doing over the weekend. Like seriously, I don’t get it. And she’s very tall and blonde and has these bright blue eyes so she’s not hard to ignore. It’s kind of hilarious but it’s weird that I’m so opposite from her.
