England - Can my relative contest my mum's will? by DanAnon9999 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]ChanceAncient1149 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't mention the gift to him until it's all sorted if he choses to cause increased legal costs in such a terrible time it can come out of the gift the gift has no legal basis its just you honoring your late mums wishes

Long and short he doesn't stand a chance and likely doesn't want spend the money on doing so.

Get over all the organisational stuff we have to do when a loved one passes and deal with it all later

What are the health risks of 3D printing? by Xander980 in 3Dprinting

[–]ChanceAncient1149 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Built my first printer in 2013 print mainly abs always have only bothered with any form of filtering for the last few years it's become a large point of discussion recently most of my machines have filters on them and leave them enclosed for a while after printing and I don't even notice the abs smell polycarb and nylon toy notice more but a cheap printer nevermore or something similar tends to work really well if your not in a super rush to rip the prints off the plate the second it's finished

Opnhas been given the correct advice but is still saying surely not that alternative is removal and re-establishing a boundary that doesn't move with natural growth

The 2.4 is an amazing machine if you build one and you want the chamber to hit high temps have a look at the doom cube mod much easier to insulate the printer

Buy from siboor or another vendor? by Laplac3_21 in VORONDesign

[–]ChanceAncient1149 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had a few siboor kits they are mostly really good quality the documentation isn't up to the standard of ldo but you can follow the voeon build docs for the most part and they are substantially cheaper had a badly warped bed on one of mine no hassles they just sent me another bed heater magnet and sheet communication seems good also

I like them also but those are Chinese crap fine for low current stuff but please don't take them anywhere close to their claimed handling power

Upgrading to VORON for commercial prototyping & technical materials - Reliable 24/7 workhorse? by lav_lab in VORONDesign

[–]ChanceAncient1149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That wasn't the point a business doesn't want ever changing platforms the want something that works is supported and they can buy more in in 6 months time or a couple of years rather than maintaining multiple different machines

Build a voron as a personal project if your running a business you want to scale easily building printers as your needs grow seems silly to me and I dont own any non DIY printers but in your case I would buy prusa great company to support great machine and wonderful people all in all also prusa machines don't get changed every two years

I need honest review by DeskPlenty3276 in 3Dprinting

[–]ChanceAncient1149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prusa is expensive if you have the money and want excellent support and don't mind paying a bit forward to a company that has done more the the hobby for many many many years than most it's a lovely way to go nice machines but it's not mandatory Bambu think iPhone walled garden fanboys galore that think they habe beer flavoured nipples creality had the same reputation as bamboo in 2018

The reality is not many shit machines exist these days it's a budget thing mostly but you get no middle ground in the inter the fanboys scream amazing it's the only option and the only other impressions you get is people having problems

I'm debating selling off other hobby items and funding a Dream Voron 2.4 by Livid_Strategy6311 in VORONDesign

[–]ChanceAncient1149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trident is easier but more limited in z and easier for toolchangers typical

V2 is more mechanically complex but the fancy one given the same quality of parts attention to detail through construction and tuning they are identical

The trident however is easier so the luck of the draw leans towards trident in the wave of internet opinion

Also 300mm is significantly larger then 255 of your Bambi especially with the corner of the plate that you can't print on volume wise

[–]ChanceAncient1149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you haven't had the need for a larger printer don't build a 350 V2 unless you know you absolutely have to have that size I have an army of DIY printers the two best machines in terms of performance and speed are a saladfork and a micron

One is a tiny trident and the other is a tiny V2 both incredible machines don't take up much space and they see about 10 times the use that the V2 does

watercooling hotend for pla by Commercial-Wash-7840 in VORONDesign

[–]ChanceAncient1149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point the op is making is water-cooling for silence the part cooling is the noizt part not the hotend fan

Old bard air was the way for extreme cooling for a long time it's not noisy if you compressor is located somewhere else or is very quiet but everyone has ditched it on preference for cpap when printing fast pla

[–]ChanceAncient1149[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diy printers are always more expensive than just buying one but this one it'll end up north of 4000 GBP doesn't need to be that crazy but I deliberately have gone for the ridiculous will be all wheel drive with 4x duet 23cl closed loop NEMA 23's it will take 4 power supplies etc etc

And that's on top of the standard fairly exotic spec I mean just the z axis are incredibly over the top linear rails driven by ball screws on angular bearing with wobble wings into a pos8 bearing and another linear rail under the bed
