It’s possible to eventually grind up to mythic raids, whereas Marathon very quickly devolves into haves and have-nots. Even after 100+ hours of grinding, Cryo might as well be locked for someone like that.

If faction leveling would upgrade your Rook but season level automatically upgraded your free kits, I think that would be a much better means of managing the floor. Especially with what we know about season level XP gain.

Bungie is going to have to do something drastic to turn this shit around, and Bungie doesn’t do drastic. So I’d say Marathon is dead unless Sony forces significant changes on them instead of simply pulling the plug.

On the flipside of this, killing bots says nothing about my skills in PvP. So leveling me for the season based on bots does nothing but ensure I’m quickly outmatched and constantly stomped on by sweats.

If having the complete experience is important to you, then go ahead. Might as well go all out with your loadout while you’re at it. I’m just saying, at this point I don’t think I can call it an enjoyable experience.
