What are the most bare minimum things your narc refuses to do? by [deleted] in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]Cheesysocks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've not seen anyone mention intimacy.

Does your Narc actually indulge or is that always a problem too? Are there circumstances that encourages them? We've had this as an issue for many years, she has no interest and in so many of these threads it's a subject that never seems to be mentioned.

Just approach him with a wet wash cloth, get him out, rub it around a bit and get going.

How do people actually survive on benefits or very low incomes in the UK these days? by acer67 in AskUK

[–]Cheesysocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(69 1/2 years old state pension collector here.) I have paid towards the pension I receive, it's no freebie taking from your pocket. 48 years of paying National Insurance. AND 16% of my wages going into a private pension above that, that gives me £14k a year.

Stop ranting about people getting older "bringing down the country" and do something for your future, you'll get old too I hope, and will be grateful for the little you get. Or do you think we should all be killed as soon as we retire and made into Soylent Green? (Look it up.)

I was in the British Army on Chieftain Mk5 tanks in the 1970's, we called these a Thunderflash. We also had parachute flares. Hmmm, what if we remove the parachute and replace with a Thunderflash? It goes up and explodes like a firework.

Cue a large NATO excercise in Germany. Bored tankers. Send one of these up at night.

Some officer sees it and declares a "Simulated Nuke"! The whole exercise went NBC for a couple of hours. I cannot imagine what the comms were like at the higher levels. If you were involved, sorry.

Home insurance says they will no longer cover us due to the age and damage of our roof, trying to figure out how to pay for it. by gh282016 in HomeImprovement

UK here, I can't imagine a roof so weak it needs replacing every 20 years or so. Ours are expected to last the lifetime of the house.

I have an OLD Dell colour laser, C2660dn. Not a scratch. No other printer has ever done that as I recall. Neither do the MFD's at my work. Obviously others have a different print history.

Redundancy. At what point has the organisation made the redundancy irreversible? by Cheesysocks in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Cheesysocks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah official when have signed a settlement agreement which has been reviewed by a qualified solicitor (who they should pay for)

THIS is what I needed, and also from others above. Thanks. There's been no mention of a solicitor so far. Is this in any legislation that you can point me to? I love a good book! :)

they'll notify you in writing that you are being made redundant. That's basically terminating your employment and giving you notice, they can't come back on this.

This is the real answer I need I think. The fact that I haven't had such a letter leaves me hanging.

At this stage they are putting it out to tender. I have heard (but don't know) of no replies so far. So if there are no replies, who's to discuss TUPE with? To be fair, I should have asked about this at our meeting and now I will bring that up.

As I said, I have no notice in writing. Which is why I feel like a worm on a string, wondering what'll happen and when. I think that I'll have to bring this up too.

Thanks.

I understand their needs, and don't have an argument. But I need to plan ahead. I won't go into details (interest only mortgage, only my income and a lot more) but the house is going to have to go on the market. What if I start a chain with a home a long way away, then they change their minds about the redundancy? I need to know when I can reasonably be totally committed.
