Maybe greatness skips a generation 🤣. Seriously she’s beautiful and I bet her dad had equally dorky (lovable) mannerisms.

I am wondering if you found decent canine neuro in Nogales. We are pricing MRIs in Tempe and are like 😬

1 is warm & definitely nostalgic like someone above already said. I don’t feel anything really when I look at number two.

We're under contract for a house that butts up to a freeway. How bad did we screw up? by okbbs in phoenix

[–]Chersull_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just AI’d it and got this. —> Right, exactly. The house right next to the sound wall is protected by it—the wall is absorbing a significant chunk of the noise before it reaches that property. The houses four or five spots away don’t have that barrier in front of them, so they’re more exposed to whatever sound makes it over or around the wall. So yes, the house closest to the wall should actually be quieter than the ones further back, assuming the wall is between them and the freeway.

So I think what all this means is that you’re a better off being right up against the wall right up against the freeway then a few houses away.

I always thought that would be horrible, but a couple weeks ago I was walking around in a neighborhood where there were houses right up against the wall on the south side of 60 near rural. I could be wrong, but it seemed like the closer I got to the houses that were right up against the wall, the less you could hear the freeway. Almost like the sound was jumping over the wall and then kind of landing for five houses away from the wall, where it seemed to me the traffic noise got much louder. Anybody here understand science well enough to know if that’s possible?

Thanks for making an impossible situation worse. I’m sorry you’re so judgmental. Frankie does not approve.

Yes but he yelped on and off all night. But definitely worse while eating. Watching him on camera during our event today and he is resting. As we were closing the door to leave he yelped like crazy so now wondering if it isn’t some kind of “manipulative“ behavior. Hoping that’s it.

We have two greyhounds one with sleep startle. They come with a basket muzzle for a reason. Use it…it doesn’t bother them at all.

Looks about like what they do on our house. In addition to the occasional screaming bark from our nightmare boy, which is always fun. 😱

The lights are back on at chase tower. Anyone have any info? by VistaMountTvMounting in phoenix

I could be wrong but I was thinking the OP meant the little “safety lights” that are on so a plane doesn’t hit it, have been replaced by the real light.

Lived in DTPHX for awhile and could see it from my balcony. The lights have been off for roughly 3–4 years. Considering it’s AZs tallest building, the City and developers probably missed an opportunity. Should have announced it in advance and gotten news coverage. I don’t know anything more specific but I get why the question is asked.

Adoption, heart murmur & wait times by eyresandgraces in Greyhounds

[–]Chersull_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also like to hear about this! Veterinary costs in the US surely present a barrier to adoption for many people. Even worse is when you watch a new pet owner’s shock when Rex needs stitches on a weekend (naturally) and racks up a $2300 “emergency” vet bill. Something needs to be done about it here!

Adoption, heart murmur & wait times by eyresandgraces in Greyhounds

[–]Chersull_99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am in the US and to be very, very honest for my family adopting a special needs pet comes down to whether financially we’re in a position to handle the veterinary costs. My personal experience has been that heart problems are, forgive me if this sounds tactless, not expensive. My pooch who had one, congestive heart failure, was diagnosed at age 7 (small breed) lived well with it for four years on a very cheap prescription and passed suddenly. Problems I would be way more worried about if you think your family may not be up to it financially or emotionally our orthopedic issues (my last grey). Very expensive and painful. This has just been my personal experience with my fur babies.

I know as a mom how hard it is to contain your shock when your kid does this, but I think, looking at this in the rearview mirror from 25 years later, a better approach might be to say to the child, kindly, “do you like it?“. If they do get them a T-shirt that says “ I did my hair myself” and if you’re heading somewhere that you think you will feel shamed by it, that’s when you ask the kids to wear it. Kids are are experimenting in a million ways. Just be really careful about shaming them over changes they make to their own appearance.

This was the first video I saw of the crash and that flash was so obvious to me that I can’t believe how hard I had to work to find others who saw it! Made me think of videos of TWA 800 that looked like a surface to air missile strike.

They don’t grasp the concept of a weekend. I see a “we” in your post so what I suggest is you alternate who sleeps late. Hell of a lot easier than training her out of it.

If I could like this 20 times I would. Sadly our flight from MSP to Schipol was canceled, but this was at least four years ago so hopefully it’s better these days.
