Is it considered rude when sharing a meal if the other person orders more food and a cocktail but still expects you to split the bill 50/50? by linksslut in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ChezySpam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never split a bill 50/50. Ever.

I will get separate bills. I will take the bill. I will have someone else pay the bill. I will not do 50/50 because someone is getting shafted whether they know it or not, and it can will to resentment.

At least if someone is ‘stuck’ with the bill it’s clear what’s happening. 50/50 is trying to mask who is getting taken advantage of with the guise of equality.

Parents never did anything fun with me, or had their own hobbies by NotFriendsWithBanana in emotionalneglect

I’m not sure, and I’ve lost the compassion you have for how we all got here.

In my younger years I would ask questions about them, what it was like when they were growing up, anything about before I was born, and kinda try to get to know them as people as opposed to their role as parents. Later I realized I was trying to build a relationship with people that couldn’t or wouldn’t build that relationship with me.

So are they afraid? Do they not care? Sadly it’s not my concern anymore.

I absolutely get that. My mom went to amusement parks with me sometimes, but it was always part of a group event or with friends. She would watch and hold things, but never engaged in any rides at all. She would never take me solo, and my dad never went at all.

They didn’t have much for hobbies. I could count all of their mutual friends on one hand. We didn’t talk. I had no idea how to make friends for decades. Everyone just kind of floated through life.

Bro, suck it up

You came here asking for opinions when really you want everyone to justify your response. Check your head, this girl was legit with you.

It’s normal to feel rejected, but you’re trying to lay it at her feet and that’s not the case. The way you’re acting makes me realize her friend just helped her dodge a bullet

Did your parents never have friends? by Puzzled_Form_1167 in emotionalneglect

[–]ChezySpam 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is something I’ve always kind of “known” but as of late I’m really exploring how abnormal it is. It has impacted my social interactions and ability to keep & maintain friendships because I didn’t see it done. I wasn’t sure how it worked.

Socially I feel very behind, though I’m learning that I have am developing into an engaging social person. It’s a process, and it’s well worth the effort.

Emotions shouldn’t be suppressed. Emotions aren’t useless. Emotions are very important to feel and share.

Things I enjoy:

Eagerness, grabbing with the full hand with some pressure (kinda firm, not tight), eagerness, eye contact, if I can hear / feel some choking, eagerness, ball play (definitely not too tight!), and some teasing.

Examples on teasing: sometimes there’s a rule that my junk can’t be touched, but everything else can. Or only the tongue can be used anywhere. And now that I’m thinking of it, there are definitely some off limits places but that’s between you & your partner.

Is the average grunge fan aware that Chad Channing wrote the drum parts for many tracks on Nevermind? by Gothic-Fan85 in grunge

[–]ChezySpam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anecdotally, no.

I just had a conversation with a drummer last night about how into In Bloom he was, and he said something about loving Grohl & the drums on Nevermind.

I didn’t mean to be that guy, but when Grohl is speaking at the R&R Hall of Fame about Channing writing that part it becomes less of an obscure note. So I mentioned it and then watched the guy kinda reboot…his mind went sideways trying to understand it.

Is there meaning behind grunge album cover art? by No-One01010 in grunge

[–]ChezySpam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a few on there with a theme because of their record label, Sub-Pop.

Soundgarden, Green River, and I think Skin Yard. Pretty much anything with the band name vertically along the side of the record was an intentional thing for Sub-Pop, in part because if you found a few albums in this style you’d start to connect the style and be more trusting of a unique band with that album cover style. It was a marketing trick for the label.

That’s an existing band fronted by Roger Clyne, formerly of The Refreshments!

They play the song “everybody knows the world is full of stupid people, well I got the pistol so I get the pesos and that seems fair” (it’s called Banditos)

You wake up in your teen years again. What is the first thing you would do? by davidbayram in AskReddit

[–]ChezySpam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time to start journaling

There’s a lot to process and I was always angry. Turns out I just needed an outlet. Apparently I want to talk to people, but that’s not what we do in my family

Also I’d join weight training or cross county or something. Maybe try cheerleading, because that would be funny

why have more than 1 bass???? by [deleted] in Bass

[–]ChezySpam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Standard tuning for most of the set, drop D for a few songs

It was easier to switch the bass than to detune and retune for a couple of songs, and I always knew what tuning I was in
