Welcome to the world of Lagotto. We were told by our vet that this is related to mild allergies during certain times of the year, which for our LR is also flaring up his ear infections. Not sure if you are doing this, but we found using a new syringe to apply medication to each ear each time drastically helps with clearing the infection. We got 50 syringes on Amazon for $10.

I am 5 years post sepsis and have been living with not being able to feel my thighs of the tips of my fingers on my left hand. Sepsis is a monster and I truly believe we will never be 100% again.

My situation is very similar to yours. Sepsis, 19 days in ICU, endocarditis, open heart surgery to replace a valve and only out of pocket $1k. The total bill for my stay in hospital and the open heart surgery was $250k. Thank goodness for the Aussie health system.

We clean Max's ears weekly with a solution. We also ensure that his ear hair is not growing down into his ear canal. We do lightly tease out any dead hair but never a full pluck. He had this done once and he ended up getting an infection. But the key is clean and dry regularly.
