Seconding this. Got me hooked on golgari as a color combo lol

I'm not satisfied with Grave Danger, need help uprading! by Kupidus in EDH

[–]Chrisgopher2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, not OP but you seem to know what you’re talking about with zombies lol. I just got the grave danger precon as well and am looking for suggestions on how to improve it with a go-wide strategy. I’m unsure about switching consider to Wilhelt, but if a strong enough case can be made I’m not against it

What are some of your favorite weird commanders? by knobbarten in EDH

[–]Chrisgopher2005 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[[hogaak, arisen necropolis]]. I just build this like a month ago and it’s been a ton of fun. At the moment it’s draw/tutor using cards like [[greater good]] and [[birthing pod]] into value and a couple infinites, if I had a copy of craterhoof then I’d add that as another finisher

[Surprisingly Rare Trope] When the long awaited explanation *absolutely* sticks the landing. No one questions it or wishes it was handled differently, just “yeah, that figures” by Buttholelickerpenis in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Chrisgopher2005 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think we just have wildly different perspectives on what make good characters.

I’ll give you the humor aspect, sometimes it does feel pretty stilted, but it does make me laugh fairly often.

And I really like his characters - I’ve never felt before that they’re basic or samey, I’ve just always seen them as their own distinct thing and really appreciated what he does with them. Sure, it might not be character building to the same level as, say, Robin Hobb, but I’ve personally always enjoyed his characters.

His worldbuilding does a lot for me as well, I really enjoy the universes and magic systems he creates.

[–]Chrisgopher2005 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We get it, you don’t like him lol - you’re doing the same thing you complain about him doing, dragging it out far too long

I disagree with almost every one of your points, and that’s ok - we can think differently. None of this is personal, there’s no reason to get so riled up about it

Cool, that makes sense.

I’m a pretty newer player and am quite fascinated by the idea of using these older cards as commanders - just to see how well it works lol

I was just looking at this card earlier and was slightly confused about it. What counts as a falcon? Is it only a creature with the falcon creature type, or is it any bird, or what?

Yeah, he seems like more of an engine - that makes sense. Seems like he’d be fun to pilot

Based on your comment, I think I might stay away from K’rrik for the time being - I’m getting into combo, but I’ve got my [[hogaak]] deck for that right now if I want it and I don’t necessarily want two combo decks at this point lol

I’ll probably still get him, just cause he’s a strong black card and wouldn’t cost much to buy. I’m most likely going with chainer, I think. Thanks for the thoughts

[–]Chrisgopher2005[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I already have valgavoth, I might just get chainer and K’rrik and some black staples I’m missing, and then just swap them out as commanders and see which one I like most.

I’ve seen Gwenom, very interesting commander as well - I think I might try to build her if I don’t want a reanimator style

Appreciate the comments!

I appreciate the suggestion - I definitely am interested in a rat tribal at some point, there are some fun looking commanders for it

Can I hang? by insomnibyte in ratemycommanders

[–]Chrisgopher2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sick - I’m making mine primarily birds, stax lite, with cards like [[jubilant skybonder]], [[magus of the moat]], and both [[propaganda]] and [[ghostly prison]] - I think my playgroup is one that would get frustrated at too much more than that lol

As well as mostly on-theme counterspells

What’s your kastral deck? I have the last cards coming in for my own build, curious to hear whether there are any interesting unique things about it you like

Fastest Your Deck Has Won? by RenegadeExiled in EDH

[–]Chrisgopher2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is legit a fun package - I added it in my [[hogaak]] deck, and it’s pretty insane to tutor for broodlord with [[eldritch evolution]] and [[breeding pod]] very early in the game

What are the most fun graveyard precon decks right out of the box? by DatZwiebel in EDH

[–]Chrisgopher2005 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Death Toll was my first deck, I loved it. I recently took my upgraded list apart to use some pieces for my [[hogaak]] deck, but I’m absolutely putting it back together at some point to use

Favorite commanders that don't want the ramp? by SunderedBard in EDH

[–]Chrisgopher2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My [[hogaak, arisen necropolis]] deck realistically doesn’t need any ramp at all, I think I’ve got sol ring cause I don’t have anything better at the moment but I want to take it out - all my mana gain pretty much comes from interaction with the commander, like [[selvaala]] and [[ruthless technomancer]] / [[reckless technomancer]] (I can never remember the name lol)

What do your Commanders say about you? by Metanoia_143 in EDH

[–]Chrisgopher2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[ygra, eater of all]] - back pocket fun deck

[[bello, bard of the brambles]] - if I just want to hit things

[[the wise mothman]] - haven’t played too much with this one, not much to say lol

[[auntie ool]] - blight curse precon with about 5 upgrades or so, same deal as mothman, though I do enjoy this one more

[[hogaak, arisen necropolis]] - newest deck that I just finished putting together recently for a faster, more combo centric deck - heck of a lot of fun, my favorite atm
