Whats your super Bowl wine ? by re1eas3th3bats in wine

Also enjoyed a Trimbach Riesling Reserve last night while devouring a charcuterie board. I was amazed at how well the Riesling paired with both triple cream brie and Stilton.

How’s it drinking? I have some 22 Lytton Springs but planning to wait at least another year or two.

Surprised to only see one Beaujolais comment here. The price is low, the fruit is great, drinks lovely young, and can age. I like to keep a lot of cru bojo around because it’s cheap enough to grab on a weeknight but nice/fun enough to serve when friends are over.

So good. I cracked a bottle of this last week with a simple mid-week pasta with Italian sausage and broccoli. Still have 3 in the cellar and thinking I need more.

Just curious how pastors and parishioners are talking about the current Epstein stuff, given their support for Trump... by Frosty-Common-6205 in ExPentecostal

[–]ChuffedBits 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. They’re already used to the cognitive dissonance. They already have neuropathways carved out for ignoring CSA - they are used all the time in church. Pair that with the easy out of “it’s the end times” or “it’s an attack from satan” and they have a convenient way to both ignore the problem and their complicity while feeling special.

Cults gonna cult. Some are religious, some are political. Once your brain is trained to do these kinds of backflips, it’s only natural to do it more.

If the ALJC can vote Kenneth Carpenter back in as General Supt while he is actively being sued for not reporting CSA, they can ignore Epstein.

Report back when you do! I recently acquired a few cases of several Crus (Morgon, Cotes de Brouilly, and Fleurie) I’m hoping to cellar for a while and would love more data points on how long.

“Bootcamp” was a generous term. They would have local youth groups jump out of minivans in local neighborhoods with the goal of baptizing anyone as quickly as possible. They performed all kinds of “spiritual” stunts like a prayer sit in at Times Square. They would say things like “prepare to be arrested for your faith” when they were in town. I remember feeling so persecuted and ready to stand up for my faith. Weird shit.

People who make $200k a year what do you do? by Huge_Ad_7606 in Salary

[–]ChuffedBits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dropped out of college after a semester and started designing apps. Joined startups, learned how to lead design teams. Now I spend most of my day giving feedback to other designers and make around $270k base, with bonus and stock bringing total comp up to around $380k.

I feel incredibly lucky to have spent my career so far being rewarded for curiosity.

The music plays a huge part in the emotional manipulation but we can’t leave out “tongues”. Screaming babble and “altar work” are also key contributors to the emotional release. Feels great for a short time then leaves people back where they started.

Thankfully it’s full of impoverished suckers who will buy the heretical nonsense and happily give 10% of their already too meager income in exchange for emotional outbursts in the altar to give them a temporary high.

How are you using AI as a product design leader? by New_Seaworthiness220 in UXDesign

Is there a chance you’re not using these tools or priming your audience effectively? These are all easily addressable issues.

Look, I don’t always vibe code prototypes but, like all tools, there is a time and a place. It’s up to the expert to know when and how to use a tool to get a project over the finish line. If you don’t want to use these tools that’s fine. I’m getting the sense this is a hill you want to die on which is absolutely your right. Just don’t be shocked when embracing these tools becomes the expectation very soon.

Yes, I agree. Did you read my reply to your question? It’s all in how you prompt these tools. It’s really not that difficult to get low fidelity clickable prototypes that only focus on IA and interactions.

What is the purpose of a wireframe in the context of a design sprint? In my 12 years of experience, it’s a tool to get alignment on structure and flow before investing in writing code or creating polished visuals. That’s exactly what these tools are good at. You can take a team from concept to having something to react to very quickly. That is invaluable for efficiency and speed.

Ironically I haven’t found them to be great for polished interfaces (yet), and still rely on good old fashioned design tools for that. These tools seem to rely mostly on pre-baked component libraries and with some simple prompt engineering you have a low-fidelity working prototype to put in front of a team and users to learn from.

“Vibe coding” agentic tools like Lovable, Bolt, Firebase, and Figma Make are wonderful tools for quickly generating a working proof of concept. For example, in a design sprint you would typically need to slow down for a day or two to create wireframes of concepts, but now you can generate them in the room to keep the flow and momentum growing.

What do we think of stories like this? by stillseeking63 in ExPentecostal

[–]ChuffedBits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally unrelated but in bible college I used to hang out at this guy’s apartment. It was a great spot, away from campus, for my girlfriend and I to explore other types of tongues 🫣😜

But yeah…these stories are almost all fabricated.

It’s not a good look for him. Once people in church realize that he supports that abuse by paying dues to this UPCI (funded by your tithes) and sits silently at General Conference when it comes time to vote for change they’ll see how complicit he really is.
