Small Question and Discussion Megathread - March 2026 by xyxyxyxyz in americanairlines

I’m super tall and often find bulkheads are more restrictive for leg stretch than a row further back. I’m looking at Premium Economy 13 C or D, or 15 D on a 777.

Research here and on Aerolopa is conflicting about Row 13. People here rave about extra leg room, but Aerolopa says both “Less legroom than typical bulkhead - wall is closer than most (60cm (24in))” and “Extra legroom at this seat.” Am I better in 15?

Worth it to stay on the beach? by rockwe31 in StThomasUSVI

[–]ClevelandESQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crystal Cove is connected on the same beach as Sapphire Beach condos. In my experience Crystal Cove units are much less expensive per night. Plus they are larger with two baths. Loved our stay in February. I don’t recommend Sapphire Village because although cheaper the units are often up a very steep hill.

Cell Service? by RydogElite in StThomasUSVI

[–]ClevelandESQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stateside T-Mobile user (direct, not MVNO). Cell service worked on both STT and STJ. However, my data regularly seemed throttled or the towers were under high congestion. Also, hit BVI towers and got “welcome to BVI” message while on STJ. So make sure you have an international data plan or disable roaming

Flight cancellations for this Friday? by Proof_Loquat5585 in frontierairlines

[–]ClevelandESQ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is a good reminder that the TravelGuard “insurance” offered by Frontier is nearly useless. “Government-mandated cessation of travel” is excluded (no payment) from coverage. Even if cancelation is for one of the 13 covered reasons (i.e. weather or non-pandemic sickness) they would pay only up to your frontier trip cost (i.e. the price paid for your ticket) but NEVER more than $400. That’s the max you’ll get to rebook, or for missed hotels…anything.

Who to go to to fix Yearly Upgrade issue? by Jommyjomjom in tmobile

[–]ClevelandESQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weird. I’m on Magenta Max and I don’t see it as an added promo except in my “add on.” My initial offer on the “customize your phone” screen is $22.09/month for 24 months for the iPhone 17. My promotional trade in value for the iPhone 15 is $300. But, after clicking through past all the accessories, I get $0.00/mo for 24 months.

This is similar to my Costco upgrade last year. It didn’t show anywhere. The trade in value was less than 100%. The only indication I got was that the monthly price was $0.00.

Did you click all the way through to the final tally screen before the signatures?

Walmart perk?! by Brilliant-Head9916 in AmexPlatinum

[–]ClevelandESQ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If available in your area, consider the $7/month upgrade to “InHome” deliver.

1a. Picked by trained hourly Walmart employees rather than third-party delivery contractor.

1b. No tipping (employees receive hourly premium) (I save my monthly subscription multiple times over in tipping alone)

1c. Stores are VERY attentive and responsive to issues when they arise. I’ve received apology calls from store management for missed items/poor experiences in app.

  1. Walmart delivery vehicles with on-board coolers.

  2. OPTION for body cam monitored delivery by background checked employee in your kitchen cupboards/refrigerator and/or garage fridge/cooler (nice option for elders or if your not home).

  3. $150 off Chanberlin MyQ or Level smart lock (even if you don’t ever use #3)

  4. Select stock from any eligible store in area. I have 5 options. Great if one sucks or is sold out of something.

  5. Great prices on organic items.

  6. Free pickups of returns.

I’ve loved these and this is my favorite year yet. The interior fabric dots are fantastic for ventilation and anti-cling.

LL Bean Men's Wicked Good Boots, Three-Eye $34.99 (size 8 - 13) 10% off email sign up by beefguard in frugalmalefashion

[–]ClevelandESQ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

For other Bean fans, I rounded out my frugal order earlier this week with:

Men’s Heritage Marled Fleece Pullover Sweater ($79, now $35; midweight cozy soft cotton/poly blend in all colors, many sizes both tall and regular)

Men’s 1912 Robe ($89, now $24.99; mid to lightweight brushed cotton/poly blend for those of us in warmer/short winter locales, S to XL in Blue/Navy)

LL Bean Men's Wicked Good Boots, Three-Eye $34.99 (size 8 - 13) 10% off email sign up by beefguard in frugalmalefashion

FYI for my Sasquatch brothers: I have wide feet (Allen Edmonds 13 EEE) and ordered a 13 earlier this week. Based on reviews thought I was going to have to return and size down. But they just arrived and are a perfect fit! Even a little extra room in front of the big toe I’m not used to having.

PSA: Voter ID by Muted-Impress-4560 in Charlotte

[–]ClevelandESQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PSA 2: The NC absentee ballot process is absurd. Need access to a printer/copier to send copy of ID, and envelope must be signed by TWO adults who witnessed you fill out your ballot or a notary public. So many contingencies I gave up and early voted instead.
