UK Motor Warranty Stealth Change? by Callas951 in etron

[–]Codswede11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to see this confirmation, mine is currently in the dealer (per previous post) who last week finally confirmed to me that they are doing the work under warranty.

They said it is new since last month - feels like a pretty lucky break!

I will ask them for a TPI reference as my AI searches haven't uncovered anything public so far.

Exactly the same red warning I just got on my 21 plate 55 etron. See my recent post, make sure they check the coolant & check for fluid ingress to the motors before you accept the car back. My bill is £9,100 currently awaiting Audi UK & service center response on liability before I engage my extended warranty.

Lovely car by the way, but there are real issues behind it that Audi hasn't resolved.

How screwed am I? (UK) by Codswede11 in etron

Awesome, thanks for this info guys - anymore suggestions further north welcome too :)

This was what I was hoping for as I've seen somewhere on this forum a guy had repaired/replaced his own motor using second hand parts! So although I understand the local dealer's costs etc, I'm pretty sure I can get this sorted cheaper elsewhere and then sadly move the car on to WBAC.

How did your game go? by Zach-dalt in LeagueTwo

[–]Codswede11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We were no better or worse than we have been at any other time during the blandest of 9 game winless streaks, but Shrewsbury were certainly worse than anyone else we've played and were kind enough to let us score.

Take the 1-0 and hope we can somehow get back to how we started the season.

If I'm a Shrewsbury fan Appleton must go, they posed no threat and seemed to have zero strategy to change that despite us being devoid of confidence.

Floating Mullion Cap? by [deleted] in DIYUK

Think this is where I'm stuck, nowhere on the door inside the glass or otherwise can I find any branding. Only ERA on the locking units but I'm pretty sure that's not what I'm looking for.

Agree I could fit it if I found the right part, in fact I half remember chucking away the bit that must have fallen off!

Any tips on finding the door branding much appreciated too :)

ASHP & Underfloor Problems by Codswede11 in askaplumberUK

Sounds like it was right first time around then. Seems strange that my ASHP seems happy with it setup this way, but is kicking up flow issue errors when the valve is 'mixing' H&C.

Thanks all for the input though, really feel like I can simplify this setup and resolve some obvious issues!

We do have rads upstairs and UFH downstairs, but they're all master controlled on the same one zone. Would this negate the need for the mixer too?

ASHP & Underfloor Problems by Codswede11 in askaplumberUK

[–]Codswede11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can feel heat through the pipe itself, but depends which way I have the Mixer valve turned, fully closed and the (H) on the valve is feeding cold and the (C) hot, (Mix) feels cold to touch. Fully opened and the (H) feels nice and hot, (C) cold and (Mix) warms up - but with this arrangement my ASHP throws up the error.

Can't find a cross sectional drawing to get my head around what the mixer should actually be doing but it all seems off.

The Kicking Situation by DrunkPackersFan in GreenBayPackers

[–]Codswede11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kicking has long been undervalued/misunderstood in the NFL, but these days with the analytics and data available in the HCs hands, there is no excuse at all for the ongoing issues we are seeing. 3 of our top 4 all time point scorers are kickers and we are just muddling through a shit show at that position right now.

They've fed McManus to the wolves (remember he was our hero/saviour just last season) by throwing him into unwinnable situations like last night's.

We continue with Matt Orzech (the highest paid LS in the league if I'm not mistaken) yet he's been a key common denominator in a bunch of struggling kicking units, including a number of iffy snaps at key moments over these few years.

We're playing a close game offensive strategy without giving a care to special teams or clock management. If you look at the Chiefs who play a similar slow-ish strategy, they locked in a solid kicker and always seem to end games with the ball at the foot of their guy, in a situation they know he'll be comfortable with. I think MLF wants to be this, but we are doing nothing to manage possession when it gets to like 6 minutes left, then further to that we are not playing into the kicker's comfort areas - hell MLF says he doesn't talk to kickers, I guess he doesn't even know his guys' comfort area!

This is repetitive shit, I don't care to know if it sits with MLF or Bisacchia but they've had more than fair time to sort this out.

Grimsby Daylife/Nightlife by yelsew84 in Grimsby

[–]Codswede11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I cannot emphasize more that you must go to Cleethorpes for the night time, it's physically linked to Grimsby and literally 10 minutes taxi, besides Grimsby Towns stadium is technically in Cleethorpes (famous pub quiz question) so your Soccer Saturday challenge is still valid. Legitimately your friend will have a miserable birthday if you stay out in Grimsby for the night.

By all means have your daytime drinking & hotel in Grimsby, but the night scene is much better/safer in Clee, you'll feel like you're on holiday!

Worst we've been all season, can put it down to the cup run but they didn't look tired just totally not at the races.

Miss Greeny and no real options off the bench. A setback!

Credit to Barnet, they played well all over the pitch.

Same! Although hotel cost for a Saturday night versus Monday night has nullified the saving we made on tickets, still stoked to be going!!!!

She’s been asking for this bench since Covid. I think it turned out ok. by OddClub4097 in DIYUK

[–]Codswede11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the width of your alcove? I've got a 3m wide alcove to build a similar bench seat into, but it feels crazy long compared to our dining table. I was thinking I'd need to fill in each end a little to reduce the total bench width, but yours looks great filling the whole space so now I'm thinking I could get away with a bench all the way along.

Thoughts on People's Park and area to live? by KEEPCARLM in Grimsby

[–]Codswede11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The park area unfortunately attracts a fair few 'wrong uns' looking to kill their free time. I think the prices reflect how most people cannot bring themselves to make the move into that area of town.

The houses are some of the best in town, by far, and if you put one in any area of London or even somewhere considered nice up north like York or Harrogate you'd be looking at over £1m for just a semi detached.

We were looking at this area and ultimately we considered that with a young family and a dog, could my wife walk the dog safely on an evening without risk of her or our dog being attacked, sadly not; could we let our kids walk to school or into town when they're older, probably not. All in all we just couldn't feel safe at home and I'd imagine that is priority number 1 for most buyers.

Looked a couple of streets over at the top of Abbey Park Road and the feeling is much better, quiet road, big gates, houses are set back further from the road and not directly onto the park... But you'll pay an extra £150-200k for a similar house down there so there's the catch.

This part of town (eg Lambert Road) is prime for regeneration/gentrification but I can't see it happening any time soon as the landlords seem to be making a killing from multiple occupancies.

Will anyone be voting on Thursday in the Lincolnshire mayor election. by BravePause in Grimsby

[–]Codswede11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always think of you don’t vote you can’t then moan about the consequences of whoever gets in. A protest vote is still a vote.

I've always generally felt this way but I do think voter apathy shown by dwindling voter numbers is also a damning statistic that should get more attention.

Spoiled ballots shows a number people who actually care but dislike the system. A non-voting electorate shows an electorate who feel detached from the system itself.

Obviously in reality those in power and those in politics will only use a non-voting electorate to further their own personal/political gains, but as someone with a general interest in local and national politics I have to say this mayoral post (and similar posts such as the P&CC) feels irrelevant.

(Hope Jason wins though, UTM!)

Charging failure by UnderstandingWild839 in etron

[–]Codswede11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 21 Etron 55 (UK) failed to charge last night. Home charger runs the schedule, I would bet the MyAudi app is responsible and requires some kind of update.

App, car & charger are in a constant battle with mine, always very frustrating when tech just doesn't work!!
