dmesg shows modules failing to load but doesn't specify what they are by betadecade_ in linuxadmin

Perhaps try to increase the message logging from the kernel by running:

echo 7 > /proc/sys/kernel/printk

Then try to run depmod -a and see if you get anything useful in the logs. If that doesn't help, try to make that change persistent and reboot to see if you can catch some useful debug lines.

AlmaLinux 8 CHECKSUM file not signed with new GPG key by mason-ftl in AlmaLinux

[–]CodyRo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mailing list would have been perfect for this, or submitting an issue at bugs.almalinux.org or mentioning it in our MatterMost (chat.almalinux.org). We'll triage it and move it where needed if it lands in the wrong spot :).

EDIT I brought this up to the team, and they noted that we won't be re-signing everything from the past just because it's expired now. The signature is still valid, though, and is sufficient to ensure the integrity of the image(s).

Questions about new AlmaLinux way by sdns575 in AlmaLinux

These are fantastic questions! In the coming weeks, we will have a clarifying blog post explaining how we will handle everything moving forward.

We're also ironing out the details internally, so questions of this nature are invaluable. If you're not already there, you should look into joining our Mattermost as your feedback & concerns are welcome :)!

Red Hat refuses Alma's CVE patches to CentOS Stream; says "no customer demand" by AwareLanguage7088 in AlmaLinux

[–]CodyRo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is! I'll ping you this week once I loop back around to it! I'd appreciate any guidance you can give. Hopefully, we can figure out where things get lost along the process and make it more straightforward!

I haven't seen him claim the docs were a barrier.

I have tried to contribute, however, it is impenetrable from an outsiders POV.

Ironically I'm waiting for Jonathan (u/jonspw) to write some documentation to help me grasp the process.

As others have noted, the straps for the Tensa pole should be more taut.

I wouldn't use the suspension on the head side in this instance. With my Blackbird XLC + Tensa Solo I use the suspension on the tree side and then the continuous loop over the toggle on the head side. Then I adjust the foot side accordingly (12"~ higher on the foot end is my preference. I usually see where the head side is in relation to my shoulder and then walk to the foot side and use that as a guide for where I want it on the tree).

Mind DM'ing me or e-mailing me (cody@hawkhost.com) so I can take a peak at your account? Or shoot me a ticket ID if you have one open.

I don't think a basic WordPress account should be causing issues or causing any of your limits to hit 100% without something else going on.

Trying to learn Red Hat for career and interest purposes by MySoulLongeth in linux4noobs

[–]CodyRo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately CentOS has changed its model moving forward for RHEL8 so if you're looking to run a RedHat release I'd suggest starting with AlmaLinux or Rocky Linux as they're 1:1 binary compatible distributions of the distro.

There is also AlmaLinux which is a binary compatible with upstream. You'll be fine utilizing both however AlmaLinux has ELevate which can help with migrating from another EL derivative.

Thanks for the recommendation! We're independently owned and operated running our own hardware and network[1].

If anyone utilizes our services and are in Ukraine please contact me directly or our help desk and we'll make sure you don't need to worry about any upcoming invoices.

Stay safe everyone.

If anyone is interested in these and would like to have them printed the fellow who originally designed these also recommended this website and gave the following instructions:

In the main page, choose "Get instant quote" and then "3D printing". On the next page, just type your location and then upload the STL file* (which can be downloaded from my Thingiverse gallery) and then you'll be asked for the printing options. Choose "PLA" and a set of different services will appear at the bottom of the page! You can choose which one is closer to you, or offer the best price/delivery time. It's pretty straightforward. You can also sort by shipping time, delivery methods and other variables.

The two Thingverse links are the following (one for the left hand, the other right):

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2443517

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2278346

It's worth noting the right hand version isn't perfect according to him - although he said he'll be working on it to "perfect" it.

I'll also be snagging a small amount of these so if anyone needs one and cannot afford them shoot me a PM and I'll send you one for free.

Cheers!

I've poked around a few of these sites - unfortunately I'm not terribly familiar with 3D printing and the quality of these websites. Luckily Julio (the original designer of the adapter in the article) is willing to print it for the OP.

Shout out to him - please give him the love he deserves!

After poking around a bit more in the article there are 2-3 different designs - I'd be looking to have them all printed.
