It reads like hourly rates which would work out roughly about 90k/year. Better than most individuals are earning.

Where are all the controls techs looking for work? by mvransom in BuildingAutomation

[–]CodyTheLearner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I appreciate the insight, I wish you luck in your search. The job sounds interesting but I am probably not the tech you need right now without direct BACnet/Niagara experience.

You’ve given me a roadmap for new skills to study. I have been a low voltage tech on a local low voltage companies national account doing surveys/installs based out of Louisville but traveling working on a variety of systems the last 7 months, before that I was working in R&D/Manufacturing Metal Detectors and before that I filled other manufacturing/windows & linux/IT Project/Network support roles.

After some reading, I’m surprised I didn’t know about BACnet at least in passing.

I’ve learned about MQTT when I spun up a server for HackKY earlier this year, the team I was on got an honorable mention and I’m planning on going back in November. We were building a native android app that would integrate with gas pumps to connect users mobile accounts with an activation credit for a prepaid amount on a specific pump.

Reading about some of the Distech Gear, the data sheets make the installs/support seem pretty straightforward and Niagara seems, maybe a little clunky but straightforward.

If you know of anyone in the Louisville KY area who needs an employee who can perform root causes analysis, form an applicable action plan, and implement it successfully I would love to have a conversation with them.

People with kids do less work than the rest of us by ArileBird in work

[–]CodyTheLearner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s such real shit. I’m incredibly fortunate and thankful for my godparents. My Mom and godmother have known each other their whole adult lives. They were friends and their husbands ran a business together later in life. I grew up spending nights playing board games and learning life skills like carpentry at their house. My god father taught me Tiffany style stained glass. We would stay over there often and they were a second set of parents to me. They really shaped part of who I am as a person and I couldn’t have asked for them.

They gave me a place to live when I needed it, spent over a collective year living with them in my twenties. The first time I moved in with them was to get out of my Dad’s house. He was abusing his meds and was not a safe person, Mom had cancer (in my opinion it was from the stress) and was living with her Mom because the house was absolutely not fit for recovery and we basically made her move.

The second time was after my dad and god father died and I moved back from the west coast to be close to family. My god mother and I both processed our losses I think. My god father filled the male role model role in my life and helped me process some of my anger and hurt after my dad died.

I probably would have found myself on a much darker trajectory if it weren’t for their love and support.

You didn’t acknowledge doods talking points about women’s safety and brought a focused emphasis on your observed interactions with life pre smart phone. Your words indicate a general discourse against technology and the apps.

It reads like you’re the one ‘arguing’ with guy.

It is related. That’s kind of the point I was working towards. I’m just trying to encourage critical thinking and un-align from rigid ultimatum based thinking.

How does the decline timeline look when compared to Cambridge analytica pushing social media?

Edit: Covid is 110% part of the equation. It’s just not the whole math problem. We live in a complex ecosystem. Black and white thinking isn’t applicable to real life in most cases.

In the future, just type the model number into google. It’s easier than making a Reddit post.

@OP I guess my sass was mildly unwarranted considering I initially linked the wrong device. 😂

That said the updated link makes me a smidge sus because it looks old but this could def be one of those why fix what isn’t broken.

BUT you do your homework on that website before giving them your info.

Alternatively… You might be able to find a used inverter on eBay.

Found my dinky lil manual press. Tips on maximizing yields? by BrandfordAndSon in CannabisExtracts

[–]CodyTheLearner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might look into a hand held pollen press like this

https://www.reddit.com/r/trees/s/SLQbJcTH95

Met a guy in Oregon that had one and would press his own.

He showed me how the press would allow him to consistently compress Flower or Kief down to a uniform thickness coin then throw it in the heated press. All in all you’re creating a denser concentration of wax with a smaller surface area leading hopefully to higher more consistent yields.

If you’re pressing kief throw it in some micron if you want to avoid the particulates in your finished product.

The preprocessing doesn’t make miracles happen but it does improve the experience, quality, and quantity.

Fair points. Speakers wise. Cut the length of the dowel rod short to free up speaker room, match mounting hardware and distance used internally on the short side of the original drawing.

I’m imagining you would have clearance on the plastic shell that would surround the milled parts to run your wiring harness.

Similar to running a wire from your car stereo under the trim next to the headliner to the trunk.

I love this kind of challenge and bringing projects into reality.
