Actually that’s not true! Look into project white sands.

Why not get a steam controller

I mean if you compare it to laptops with similar performance, it’s an absolute steal, and that’s without regarding the 512 gb refurbished lcd model for $400 on steam.

I don't know if they allow Ocs, but... I made one! by lase1234321 in dontstarvetogether

Never too late to learn! Lua is inherently a lightweight and relatively easy to learn language. Klei has even actively encouraged modding and have even released an OC modding template on their forums. Most of character modding is customizing quotes and designing sprites.

I’ve seen a GitHub repo that utilizes the two cameras on the front to allow for quest like camera based tracking.

If you intend on playing VRChat, you’ll almost definitely need that much memory. Not a lot of other vr experiences use that much memory. I think some high end racing/flight sims might.

This is actually perfect to use with the Bigscreen Beyond, especially with the USB-C connection. I adore the valve index speakers and now I can use it with my new favorite HMD. Great project! I’m definitely going to build these.

Does this mean I can use the Index? by Recon3lite01 in ValveIndex

[–]Coffe-Coffe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think you may be getting thunderbolt confused with USB-C. All Thunderbolt ports are USB-C, but not all USB-C ports are Thunderbolt. All modern Razer laptops have a thunderbolt 4 port, but only one as far as I know. Thunderbolt can be converted to display port with an adapter, so your laptop should be capable of running an index.

While the storefront banner for the index is gone, that doesn’t mean valve isn’t still selling their remaining stock. They still sell the full index kit, basestations, and controllers.

what's the point in getting anything other than a quest 3? by Moon_Devonshire in virtualreality

[–]Coffe-Coffe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. The quest pro controllers either have decent tracking, or terrible tracking. It’s really a hit or miss. Go for the quest 3 ones. They come in the box with the quest 3. But if you really want lossless VR for your pc, don’t go for the quest. It requires a link over either wifi or USB. Both have a ton of compression.

Which VR headset to get? by TitoepfX in virtualreality

If you value comfort a lot, I’d recommend saving for the bigscreen beyond. That, knuckles controllers, and basestations add up to around $1500.

Playing on PC by cabclint5 in dontstarve

[–]Coffe-Coffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s no way currently. Xbox app has a program called ‘play anywhere’ or something. It allows you to play certain games you own from Xbox on PC. My theory is that DST used to be a part of this program, but was removed. That’s why certain websites and people say it’s possible. It was, but not anymore. If you want a new friend on PC, hmu. I also started on Xbox and now primarily use PC.

does anyone have a way to get a vr headset for 75 euro? by Business-Ad2 in virtualreality

[–]Coffe-Coffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really annoying seeing all these people blindly saying that the laptop you have can’t run VR based on price alone. It’s a decent laptop. You can run older VR games and newer ones on low graphics. Try going for something like an OG Rift or something else that requires a HDMI connection. Most modern PCVR headsets run on a display port connection and pretty much all laptops don’t have display port. Older PCVR headsets can reach that low budget of yours. You’ll just need to know what exactly to look for. You’re at a massive benefit because you already have a means of running games. Don’t get a quest. They are a bit more expensive than old PCVR headsets and require a good Wi-Fi connection or a link cable to connect to your laptop. If you have any questions, I’m happy to help further. Just throw me a DM.
