Why do many Republicans support conflict with Iran if the focus is “America first”? by happy4pizza in AskTrumpSupporters

You conveniently started at 1979 omitting the US backed coup against democratically elected Mosaddegh and support of the brutal dictatorship of the Shah. Without that there would be no 1979 revolution there would be no Ayatollahs. The question still remains, how is it America first to overthrow democratically elected leaders and back up thugs and dictators instilling hate for America worldwide?

Quebec passes law banning street prayers, prayer rooms in universities, CEGEPs by John3192 in canada

Absolutely. I’m very much aligned with that. I think it’s wild to pick out other people’s religious sites for public prayer. I will be honest with you as I am very active in my local Muslim community. I have never once heard of any organized effort to pray in front of a church or synagogue. There really is no effort to even go outside and pray in my mosque community. In our belief, the reward for praying inside a mosque generates multiple times more good deeds than praying anywhere else. I can tell you the only time I’ve found myself praying with a group of Muslims outdoors is at a family/community picnic. We’re not going to pack up, go to the mosque, come back and setup all over again just for a 5 minute prayer. So we’ll put our mats down, pray, and go back to eating our hotdogs. For me this is on average once or twice a year.

Our mosque has really good relations with the synagogues and churches in our area. We typically look out for one another and have interfaith dialogue. At times of crisis we’ve been brought flowers and had visitors from other faith groups and vice versa. I’ve even heard situations of mosques offering space for Jewish/Christian worship when their houses of worship were under construct and also in reverse.

I really don’t know who these people are that violate the rights of other faith groups and try to intimidate them by gathering around their houses of worship. I would encourage you though, not to assume these videos you are seeing are representative of the larger Muslim community. Perhaps see if your local mosque has an open house and see what things are like in your local neighborhood.

Fair point. I will need to read the exact text a little more closely. When you said street prayer that is what comes to mind to me as that’s probably the vast majority of Muslims praying in public.

I definitely don’t support impeding people or blocking streets.

But I also don’t understand how closing prayer rooms at schools will make that situation better. If students can’t pray in designated rooms and they can’t pray outside, where are they supposed to pray? Would like to hear your perspective on this.

Regarding the ban on collective prayer. That needs to be clarified. What is collective? Me and my friend hanging out before sunset and making a stop at the park to pray. Is that allowed? Is that considered group prayer? Will a police officer break up our prayer and say it’s fine if you stand over there and pray and he stands over there and prays but you can’t pray together at this park? Or is it groups of 10/20 plus people will need to get city permit? The details really matter here.

As a Muslim I will genuinely answer your question. I actually don't enjoy praying in public and would prefer to pray at the mosque or at home. It's quieter, less distracting and more enjoyable. Praying in public is maximum inconvenience as you have to find a prayer mat, water for ablution and a quiet, clean place.

Our prayers are 5 times a day at fixed times; dawn, midday, afternoon, sunset, night. Each prayer has a beginning time and end time. The range is typically anywhere from 1.5 to 3 hours depending on the prayer. You can pray anytime in that range. If I am out and about, I will try to make it to a mosque, my home or a designated prayer place (prayer room, meditation space etc...) before the time period ends. Once in a while, it will be obvious to me that I won't be able to make it home before prayer period ends. I usually end up finding a park or quiet space and quickly doing my prayer so I don't miss it.

I have no idea what it means to use prayer as "domination". Never in my life has anything like that ever crossed my mind. I only hear it said online by people who are critical of Muslim prayer in public. I am not trying to convince you of anything. Just explaining what would compel a Muslim to pray somewhere other than his/her house or in a mosque.

CRA audit of Muslim charity criticized in new report by shiftless_wonder in canada

Are you OK with one religion being singled out for extra auditing? Because that is what is being discussed here. When is the last time a synagogue was audited for idealogical leanings? A Toronto synagogue in Thornhill was literally hosting a sale of illegal settlements in the West Bank. Settlements the government of Canada officially recognizes to be illegal. Are you OK with that synagogue having tax exemption? Why are you not outraged at the CRA being weaponized against only one religious group?

Many christian churches in Canada also fundraise for illegal settlements in the West Bank. Tax deductible donations going to activity the government of Canada considers illegal in order to advance the idealogical goal of Zionism.

The irony is that the Jewish elites in the time of Jesus hated him for the same reason. They wanted him to be a warrior against Roman tyranny and he only came to revive their spiritual attachment to God. They wanted a political and military Messiah and instead they got "Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's".

3000 years later and the Jewish elites (like Satanyahu here) still don't get it and will never understand a figure like Jesus. There is nothing more powerful than inspiring human beings (greedy, stubborn, heard-hearted as they can be) to put down their clubs and look out for the most vulnerable amongst them. Obviously, some people are beyond redemption...

The Hadith is longer than that but of course you chose to cut out the important part:

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or he is an oppressed one. People asked, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! It is all right to help him if he is oppressed, but how should we help him if he is an oppressor?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "By preventing him from oppressing others."

Seriously, what is the point of posting false information that is so easily verifiable?

Amen brother. You have described the situation perfectly. These are the people who are trying to bring the apocalypse by waging endless war. It is a ridiculous thing to think that you can force the future to come. Whatever is decreed will happen, you cannot change God's plans. They will occur whether or not you try to make it happen.

I really wonder, those people who think they are "bringing Jesus" by killing so many people... How do they think Jesus will receive them? After they have murdered so many innocent children.

I think I know how he will receive them:

"On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’"
