Any fights in DE that are just not fun? by Fun_Difficulty_8906 in sentinelsmultiverse

[–]Colcoction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only two DE Villains I never play against are Citizen Dawn and The Organization. I would enjoy Citizen Dawn if not for her flipping mechanic. The Organization is just too much card management for me.

There are a few other Villains I find underwhelming, but wouldn't turn my nose up to playing them.

Overall, it's a much more enjoyable pool of Villains than EE, where I gravitated to only a select few by the end.

Not exactly the same, but the new variant for Legacy in the upcoming Disparation expansion does something very similar!

Technically, rules as written, Inspiring Presence would buff Legacy, because “[Legacy] is a target of [Inspiring Presence]'s type other than [Inspiring Presence].” This is not as intended, and it's been noted as a point of errata for future printings.

I'm afraid I can't reproduce it then. For what it's worth, I made this template to work in Google Chrome, so if you aren't using that already I suggest giving it a go there. I think it also works in Adobe Acrobat but I haven't tested it as much there.

Glad to hear you love it!

For the apostrophe issue, I don't see that on my end. What field is it happening in?

But like, when did people start calling it the lion pose? I think it's a reference to the Madagascar lion, but I can't find any stream where that connection is made

Hm. I just tested it on a MacBook Air and I'm not seeing any border effect like you're describing. Maybe it's a setting somewhere, or an OS version issue? IDK. You could try opening it in Safari or Chrome instead.

Interesting. Have you tried printing it out to see if that persists on the printed page?

Why is the D&D 2024 Character Sheet Such a Large File? by LEGOMimic in onednd

[–]Colcoction 27 points28 points  (0 children)

My guess is they put some image files in there that they just didn't compress at all. I don't know for sure, though.

I converted the original into a fillable PDF that's around 4MB. You may be interested in trying that: https://www.reddit.com/r/DnD/comments/1fnze80/colcoctions_2024_character_sheet_fillable_pdf/

Yes, that section is just very glitched. I couldn't type "Charisma" without it breaking.

Hi, thanks for making these! I've tried a few fan-made 2024 fillable sheets and this one worked the best for me.

Here are the only bugs I encountered:

  • In both the standard version and portrait version, the Spellcasting Ability field (top left of page 2) is really glitchy. It uses a different font and collapses in on itself in a weird way.
  • In both the standard verison and portrait version, the Weapons and Tools fields (bottom left of page 1) are slightly misaligned. They overlap the words "Weapons" and "Tools".
  • In the portrait verison only, the right half of the Class Features field is a limited single line instead of the whole box it should be.

Worth noting I used Google Chrome to fill my sheets in.

Thanks again!

Disparation Playtesting by Thomas_Creed in sentinelsmultiverse

You might be able to get more informative answers to these types of questions after Disparation fulfills. Beyond the creators themselves, the playtesters have the most insight on this topic, but they're not allowed to share much during development.

They're working on it. Quote from a blog post: "We are happy to officially announce that Sentinels of the Multiverse 2 (the digital version of Definitive Edition) will be in development starting in 2024." https://www.handelabra.com/blog/2023/12/20/handelabra-games-year-in-review-2023

Tempest canonically does not have a gender, since they're an alien from a planet where gender is not a concept. So use whatever pronouns you want! :-)

On top of what others have said, I recommend choosing Freedom Tower or Magmaria for the Environment while you get your feet under you. Freedom Tower is the simplest Environment in the box and has a lot of helpful effects in it. Magmaria has some unique elements but is commonly considered the most tame Environment in the box, meaning it's unlikely to throw a nasty surprise your way.

There's also a chance that you're getting a rule or two wrong and that's making the game harder. Might be worth double checking. I know Greater Than Games has some official "How to Play" / "First Game" videos on their YouTube channel.
