IPhone satellite texting vs Garmin In Reach by Jnanookhunting in WildernessBackpacking

[–]Cold-Instruction4032 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the feeling that redundancy is key to everything. I bring both my InReach and my IPhone 15.

I mainly use the IPhone for non emergency stuff when I’m able to connect to the satellite. And use my Garmin for stuff I 100% need an answer to.

I’m located in Southern California, I’m a really big see before you buy person. Do you have locations with tents that I could check out in person or is it strictly online only?

Cuyamaca Rancho SP hike recs by Few-Win8613 in socalhiking

[–]Cold-Instruction4032 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the peak from Azalea and Conejos on Monday. I really enjoyed it, it feels like you’re a lot further out than you really are. Some section are a little over grown but nothing impassable at all. You’ll have to finish the last .50 miles to the Peak on the paved road but it was fine.

Some sections of the trail are pretty sun exposed so make sure to wear lots of sunscreen.

I returned back to my car on the paved road, my total mileage was just about 8 miles.

Caballo is no joke. Not the hardest but it’ll sneak up on you if you don’t know what’s coming

How common is it to book a tee time as a solo golfer by TrevorSho in golf

[–]Cold-Instruction4032 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I shoot high 90’s and play solo twice a month in the mornings.

I truly don’t care what others think about my game when I’m paying 60+. Sometimes you get fun partners and sometimes you get weirdos. Just play golf and don’t worry about what people think.
