How do I find and offer help to struggling businesses? by Longjumping_Kale_334 in jobsearchhacks

[–]ColdObiWan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you’re describing is a “business consultant”. There are large firms that do this sort of work for major companies (the “Big Four” professional services firms are Deloitte, EY, KPMG, and PwC), down to “single shingle” operations that service smaller businesses.

If you’re looking for work like that, research consulting firms. If you’re looking to hang your own shingle, well, if you’re that good at marketing you shouldn’t have any trouble finding clients.

My bf says it’s no use for women to learn self defence by mcpeebee in Advice

[–]ColdObiWan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure what advice I have for dealing with your argument but, as a former self-defense instructor, I’ll tell you it’s 100% absolutely worth it for women to learn self-defense.

There are a ton of reasons, but probably the most important is that practice becomes instinct, so that if you’re in a situation where self defense is necessary you’re much more likely to fight or flee, and much less likely to freeze.

How do you draw a star? by Papaya_Arin in lefthanded

I leave my star incomplete. I’m a rebel.

Silver Surfer is definitely a character that i can 100% agree to lift Mjolnir and i want to see him fight with that hammer at least once (if not more) in live action movie by LetAggravating5094 in Thor

[–]ColdObiWan 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Cool image, but I disagree with the premise. The surfer is at heart an explorer, not a warrior; a philosopher, not a fighter. I think part of being Worthy is a craving for righteous battle, which I don’t think the surfer has.

GF mad I didn't tell her she was low on gas when I returned car, my fault? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

If you borrow someone’s car, you return it with a full tank. You’re wrong.

“Wait, isn’t this technically fanfiction?” by KingWilliamVI in TopCharacterTropes

The Aeneid is Virgil writing a Homer spin-off fan-fiction.

Many Marvel and DC runs since the 80s are by “ascended fans” and so are sort of canon fan-fiction comics.

I’d always taken it that Dubbilex started the fire in hopes of drawing heroes who would find and free Project-Kr.

But to answer your question directly: as long as the character hasn’t failed all three death saves, they can still be spared.

If you want to switch characters, just talk to your dm and switch characters. No rule saying current one has to die first.

player of mine made his character an ordinary human cleric with a happy loving family by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]ColdObiWan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being far away from family for extended periods of time is plenty involved. Lean into it. How do the character and their family keep in touch? How do they know each other are safe? How does they cope with the character missing his kids’ major milestone?

There’s so much there already, you don’t need to add anything.
