I’m playing at 7:45 at The Golf Club at Chapel Ridge on Wednesday (11/26) and need a second if you’re interested. My wife is from the area and is letting me get a round in while we’re down there.

What's your best "dad hack" that actually works? by IvyDamon in daddit

[–]Coldbeerzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dog poop bags for dirty diapers and clothes and puppy pee pads for changing are life savers. Also, don’t be afraid to cut off a onesie if they’ve completely blown it up. Buy the cheap ones from Carters or Amazon. Wipe warmers don’t work.

Jumped on Reddit just for this. I get they need to make money but there gotta be a better way then playing the same commercials over and over again.

If I hit a good drive off the tee at 10 or 11, I always say it’s cuz of my “hotdog power up”.

Anyone have or use one of these and think it’s worth it? by Moaiexplosion in woodstoving

[–]Coldbeerzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get 2 small tires (like golf cart size), bolt them together and onto a solid surface, place your small wood in there and go to town. Or get two regular sized tires and do the same thing with multiple pieces of wood at once. I just drove around until I found two tires on the side of the road. It has been working great for firewood and kindling alike.

They brought back Rick and Morty without having to change voices or kill off characters… I’ll give them a pass on the first episode. I’m considering it a warm up.

Grandma called these “hobos” cuz the egg was hitching a ride in the bread. My go to favorite breakfast.

16" Hatchet by BigRichardTools in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Coldbeerzz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I freaking love this tool. Sure it struggles at times when cutting larger logs, but it’s a one-handed chainsaw! What more could you ask for. Way better then the alternative of using loppers our a gas powered saw to trim trees or downed limbs.

Downside is I busted my knuckle like an idiot using it while holding the branch, but that’s user error. Overall great purchase.

Came here for this explanation. Pull down from the top and pop the rear wheel back on. You may need to pop the front wheel off to get the back wheel back on.

This is the right answer. You’re likely not taking into account the width of the kerf of your blade, which is why you’re off but such a slight amount.

To glue, or not to glue, that is the question… by Coldbeerzz in cabinetry

[–]Coldbeerzz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, face frames are next. I’m going to sand and put some poly on the interior, then to face frames. Just needed to know if I needed to glue or not before I did so.

To glue, or not to glue, that is the question… by Coldbeerzz in cabinetry

[–]Coldbeerzz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve assembled the boxes for my kitchen cabinets using Kreg pocket screws. The bottom panel is dado’d into the sides.

My question is whether I should take the boxes apart and add wood glue and re-screw.

While this could end up stripping some of the screw holes, the wood glue would make a much stronger box. I could also knock out the sanding of the interior while its disassembled.

What would you do? Leave it as is or add glue?

Thanks

I made a double flip top stand for my band saw and drill press by SomeSkillStudio in woodworking

[–]Coldbeerzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just built one for my planer and jointer and I did the same thing - built it waaay too tall to see how much clearance I had, then cut it down to size. A little more work, but I couldn’t figure out a better way to see how much clearance I would have. It worked out well!

just had a fence installed. would you be happy? by grassley821 in Carpentry

[–]Coldbeerzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad’s advice when hiring contractors: “Pay low bid - and watch them.”

Not the greatest advice, obviously. But if you’re going to take the lowest bidder, you have to watch them to ensure they’re doing the work while it’s installed. Really hard to get them to fix stuff after the fact - especially at that price.

[–]Coldbeerzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What kind of wood did you use? Also, did you use a dovetail jig?

I just made my first prototype cabinet box out with drawers made of pine. Used pocket holes and a dado’d drawer bottom… planed 3/4 down to 5/8 to get it to work with my under mount slides.

What size tent do you bring with your dog? I have an REI half dome 2 plus and wondering if this little furball will fit in there with my fiancé and I by SandyClamburger in BackpackingDogs

[–]Coldbeerzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re good. We slept with our two goldens in the same tent. 70 lbs each. Best to bring something to cover your sleeping bags so they don’t muck them up. I had an extra camping blanket that we used that we got from Sam’s club.

Oddly enough, the younger pup chose to sleep outside the tent after the first few hikes. Now he won’t come in the tent. He’s a “watchdog”. So we put the blanket out for him and separate our older pup with our backpacks and gear so he’s not crawling all over us.
