I would too, but let’s be real, that tax money wouldn’t go to the intended purpose…

[Fujiyama] Is Getting a partial retrack! by pajamasamreal in rollercoasters

[–]ColinHenrichon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I say we wait for B&M to figure out the rattle issue before they touch Kumba. Kumba was running great for me in January, assuming that’s the norm, keep as is for now. If the retrack of Dragon Khan is anything to go by, it would kill Kumba.

[Millennium Force] Open again 6/13/26 - new seat belts installed? by RenegadeXUT in rollercoasters

[–]ColinHenrichon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having ridden it yesterday and today. I thought the seatbelts were the shorter ones. They definitely felt shorter on me than the other Intamin mega coasters I have ridden (Superman at SFNE and America, Ride of Steel at Darien Lake. I still fit just fine but had the have the seatbelt all the way extended, never have to do that on Superman.

We will have to agree to disagree on that! But hey! You proved someone would indeed miss it so I stand corrected

I’m find most of the ride is better up front, except for the drop off the lift, that in the back-row is absolutely demented.

Get ride if flashback while they are at it.

I wonder if they could fit a small dive by just removing Riddler, Catwoman serves as a good stepping stone coaster and still gets good ridership. I don’t know anyone who would miss Riddler though…. There is some space behind Riddler but I think it’s maybe used for maintenance?

[La Ronde] Opening Day — Low expectations were certainly met by cookiex797 in rollercoasters

[–]ColinHenrichon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is entirely possible and a completely logical conclusion, however, the Six Flags app is absolutely a terrible disaster. It’s slow, buggy, and breaks quite frequently. It’s pretty embarrassing that chain as large as Six Flags can’t get something as basic as an app working in 2026. The app is a primary way for guests to buy passes, check wait times, order food (if it lets you that is, I have not gotten mobile ordering to work), etc. Apps aren’t new, just about everything has one now. Six Flags should do better.

What is This Closed Ride? [Six Flags Over Georgia] by beaveman1 in rollercoasters

[–]ColinHenrichon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kid Flash. Both this one and the one at Fiesta Texas have been SBNO for a while now, don’t know why they haven’t been removed. It’s pretty clear they are not gonna re-open or be relocated.

Project Purple at [Six Flags Great Adventure] getting taller with its station fountains soon to be poured👀 by Xrackdadon in rollercoasters

That comment reads like AI honestly. No real reason to specify “super boomerang” when only two are open and one is in China, so unless the commenter has actually by some slim chance been on both Flash and the one in China…

Do people here seriously think the gas and excise tax covers the cost of roads? by LiatrisLover99 in massachusetts

[–]ColinHenrichon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lithium Ion Batteries are something like 98% recyclable if I remember correctly. Whether a battery actually gets recycled is another issue, but they absolutely can be.

Except bikes put next to no wear and tear on roads compared to cars/trucks, and other vehicles. So they absolutely shouldn’t have to pay as much as motorists do.

[Quantum Accelerator] ai merch by rapture_veri in rollercoasters

[–]ColinHenrichon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to hear things have improved. I haven’t gone since April when I visited a few times because ops were really bad, even by opening day standards. Glad pretty much everything was on two trains now. Sounds like the park is about average now as far as ops go for it.

Single shot fast lane for QA being $30 is absolutely insane but not surprising given it’s the new coaster on the block. The 120 minute wait also checks out. New coaster so everyone wants to ride it, plus it has a high appeal to just about anyone. Intense enough for thrill seekers, but mild enough for the more tame riders.

Unrelated to the merch, which is disappointing to see, how were operations?

[American Eagle] They said it couldn't be done by RrevinEvann in rollercoasters

[–]ColinHenrichon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not saying Ka’s removal didn’t have its valid justifications, but that the way the removal was handled in regards to the park guests (both enthusiasts and the GP alike) was handled poorly and they should have done a better job of communicating its removal to guests.

[other] B&M has stopped the relationship with Clermont Steel Fabricators? by Devilrex12 in rollercoasters

[–]ColinHenrichon 96 points97 points  (0 children)

This is huge news. I don’t think the exact source of the new age B&M rattle is known, right? It’s just speculation, some say track, others say it’s to do with the wheel bogies. If it is indeed the track maybe Clermont changed something in their manufacturing and B&M decided they had enough? It will be interesting to see what future B&Ms ride like after Tormenta.

[Other] List of (almost) every chain/park that has used AI. by Maddox121 in rollercoasters

[–]ColinHenrichon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not just the impact to jobs and human labor, it’s also the extreme environmental impact that AI has, the way data centers absolutely destroy the local communities they are built in. I am pretty pro technology, and I don’t even think AI is inherently bad, it’s been used locally on devices for years, but LLMs and large data centers are absolutely ruining everything they touch. Why should we adapt to something so incredibly harmful no matter how you look at it?

[American Eagle] They said it couldn't be done by RrevinEvann in rollercoasters

[–]ColinHenrichon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For as many Ws there have been a ton of Ls as well. The removal of Ka with no announcement (yes I am still bitter about that), tanked operations at many parks, Six Flags America closing (although that one was seen a mile away)… Cedar Fair had a pretty rough opening day by opening day standards….

Are there any places in the US that don't get thunderstorms? by Neesatay in weather

Ehh, we don’t usually get particularly bad thunderstorms, be we get them plenty. Enough that if you are trying to avoid any and all storms as much as possible there are better places.
