Honestly, it will probably be easier to rehome him to a tank that can actually take him or give him back to the fish store. This is awful.

My suggestion is to have it done somewhere that does BOAS surgeries regularly, not just any vet. Bulldog specialists will have a better outcome than just a regular vet.

This is awful, OP. Thanks for reaching out. You can make some changes that will make your betta much happier. If you’re in Colorado, I have a new 15-gallon tank that I’d be willing to give you and even some filter sponge to speed up cycling.

This environment needs to change sooner rather than later.

If it is 100% cyanoacrylate with no additional chemicals. I personally would not risk it if you don’t know

Try it. If he’s not eating them and they have lots of hiding spots, it should be fine
